If your skills where even on both Caldari and Gallente dread related skills, which out of the Moros and Phoenix would be the "better" dread for Station Camping BS's, killing other dreads and POS warefar.

Pheonix is more useful -vs- POS.
Moros /w good drone skills is great -vs- other ships.

I don't fly a dread, I've just talked to some that do and did a bit of research, this is what I think.
The gallente dread should be superior to the caldari one in pvp vs smaller ships, due to its massive drone bonuses.
The phoenix should be superior to the moros for siege warfare, since it is a bit more versatile with range, and can select the optimum damage type.
Again, these are just my thoughts. ----

Moros= Okay.
Phoenix = Okay
Dreads are dull.
Skull cruskingly, soul destroyingly, eve hatingly dull.
When it comes to shooting a POS you arent gonna give a **** what dread you're flying, cos you'll go into siege mode, f1-f3 ( or f1-f4 if its a nag) and go to sleep for 10 minutes.
You wont use a Moros drones against a POS cos they cant reach ( well sentries can but you really dont wanna be that close), and you wont use a Moros drones against other ships for 2 reasons.
A) Dreads stink in PvP. The amount of support ships they need to be effective totally conuteracts any benefit they might give. A Moros can chuck out 1000+ DPS with tis drones, but a Mega can do that with blasters and doesnt cost 1.5 Billion Isk.
B)If you are seiging a POS and you get attacked odds are that lag will happen and you'll be lucky to see 1 frame a minute. Your drones wont matter cos you wont be able to use them. Or anytihng else for that matter.
So really, train BS 5 and the weapon skills you need for the BS you enjoy flying.
Because you will hate your Dreadnought. Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed dimensions of 400x120 pixels and filesize of 24000 bytes -Sahwoolo Etoophie ([email protected]) |

Either of them would be good for station camping BS but VS other dreads that's a tough one. Guess it would depend on your support. And vs POS well, as someone before me said...f1 - f3 fall asleep. Won't matter as much there, although I'd assume the Phoenix would out-damage the moros over a longer period of time...that's how missiles work right? Crap DPS (good alpha) but if the fight lasts long the DPS catches up. ---

It highly depends on what you're up to. If you want to fight off battleships too a Moros is better, because it doesn't need help to do so. If you want to shoot pos only a Phoenix is better because it's launchers do the same DPS at every distance. But if you are in a heavily lagged system a Revelation is superior to both of them because it's the only dread that doesn't need to reload (5-10 minutes module lag ftl). And for pure DPS the Nag is better then the rest simply because it has more weapons. No dread is the best square and fair. Each one has it's advantages.

I say.... The Shield Tanked Nag.. Due to that it can field 4 dmg mods.2xGyroII 2xBCUII
Vs Bs Moros
Vs POS
Best DPS Dread is a Shield Tank Nag.. But it has weak weak tank. Domination XL EMP/ CN Cit Torps.
If this alliance fails im going back to ganking. I think im heading for -10. |

Here's something you should consider regarding dreads vs POSs:
Phoenixes are great if you're shooting the tower, you'll get full damage output due to the tower's sig radius. As a bonus, the Phoenix can load out with citadel torps that the tower has the least resistance to.
Now here's where the Phoenix gets screwed in POS warfare. If you have to kill off those stupid exterior structures then the Phoenix is the worst dread for the job. Thanks to some excellent design decisions, the sig radius of those structure are so small that citadel torps only hit for half damage and we're talking about the largest exterior structures...good luck with the med and small structures, your drones will do more DOT than your citadel torps.
As if that wasn't enough, the external structures are immune to EW which means that target painters are of no help. Factor in the ridiculously high HP on those structures (best design decision I've seen yet! ) and multiply that by the number of external structures you have to pop and you'll quickly find that the Phoenix may actually be the worse overall performer for POS takedowns since more time is spent removing/incapacitating those external structures than reinforcing/destroying just the tower.

I'm pretty sure that there isn't even close to the CPU needed to fit a cap shield booster along with the damage mods on there. -

small and medium pos guns need bigger sigs or the ability to use painter on them. They take obscenely long to destroy since bs and capital weapontry cant hit them well. Considering this, I would recommend moros at the current time.
