I've noticed something sad recently.
I've been flying a Stealth Bomber around, trying to find lone cruisers and friggies to kill, and ratting while I'm waiting.
Just now, facing two Destroyer-class rats in Hysera, I locked onto both Destroyers, used two Sensor Dampners on one of them, and fired three missiles at the other.
The one I had fired at got blown up by my missiles. I then targeted and fired at the one I had damped. Then I cloaked.
I noticed something strange - even though the missiles were on their way, they didn't do any damage my target, potentially because I had cloaked.
So. . .if I'm cloaked, it appears that it's not possible to deal damage at the same time. Just like you can't even fire while you're cloaked, you can't seem to deal any damage while you're cloaked, even if you fired before you cloaked.
Is this the way it actually is? Is this a bug? Is this intentional? ECM Specialist

Edited by: Illyria Ambri on 21/09/2007 23:44:01 Unfortunatly this is a missight by CCP that we don't know if it will ever get fixed.
After all if you think about it.. These gotta be seriously stupid missles.. they cannot find a target on their own..
I guess Line of Sight is too much for these moronic missles to handle so they use wire guides...
Such high tech with ships that can destroy planets by gravity alone and warping between stars.. but their missle tech is too stupid to find a target on its own ------------ This is not War... This is pest control - Dalek Sek

Just out of curiosity, have anyone tried with FoF missiles?
It probably works the same way though...

making the missiles hit after your bomber has cloaked would make stealthbombers way overpowerd

Edited by: Dr Grot on 22/09/2007 00:01:57 Fof won't work either, if you can cloak then you don't have aggro, if you don't have aggro then the fof won't even launch.

LOL
Imaging a gang of 5 stealth bombers.
Firing at 1 ship. Thats 15missiles. They fire 1 volley and cloak . and the missiles destroy the target.
so the targetted ship never had a chance to defend himself. Wouldnt be a lot of fun for the peeps fighting stealthbombers.

Same thing happens if you fire a volley and warp. It smacks into the target and does no damage. Nothing new.

Not quite true. You can fire at any locked target with FOF. The main use is to allow volleys to continue to fire after your lock has been broken.
That is unless CCP have changed that in the last 4 months as well. Seems like they are changing (nerfing) so much recently that it's hard to keep up with what things can do any more. --

It was deliberately made this way. It's not a bug, this is how it's supposed to work. Probably mostly because until your missiles hit you don't get flagged for agression, so you have to be targetable at that time to avoid exploits etc. (hiding from concord / avoiding sentry fire etc).
