i believe it was stated before, but it is quite simple.
a macro user can hit one key, walk away for 12 hours and come back with more money.
the key binder hits one key. fires weapons until rat is popped. press one key again. rinse repeat as necessary. this forces the user to be at the desk, although not as attentive.

The alt key is problematic because of its built-in function in EVE of un-hiding all tactical icons on the screen, in-space. This causes some client lag and your G15 macro doesn't work properly.
One simple solution is to re-map the mid-slot shortcuts to not include Alt, and then map these new shortcuts to your G15 keys. -- ŽMe, Žnow. Quote me and you're sued! |

Hello everyone,
Although Gamemasters don't usually post on the forums, I felt it necessary to post here and prevent any misunderstandings. We allow the use of a G15 or similar keyboard operated macro, you press a key and all your guns activate at the intervals you set. That usage is fine, macro clients that allow the user to operate a client without being at the keyboard is not (ie a macro that does everything for you, without you doing anything regardless of where you are).
Hopefully that is end of the discussion of whether G15s are allowed or not, they are allowed. |

They are only interested if you are using your macro for the purposes of operating your pc while you are away from the keyboard for the purposes of mining large quantitys of ore or somthing similar.
If you arent using your macro to obtain isk or items in an unfair manner then you are doing fine.

I cant say I read the thread, but to fix the problem the OP was having you need to:
Open the Keyboard Profiler Settings > Profiler... at the bottom of that window check "Record delays during quick macro creation"
and that'll fix the problem. Just make sure that you do the alt keys like "Alt down, F1 down, F1 up...F8 Down, F8 Up, Alt up" and the same for any ctrl ones you have.

Thanks, I'll try that. Though I have one more question, if I use the profiler to create key binding macros, how do I get them to work? I've tried and when I press them ingame, they do nothing. Thus why I've been using quick macros as those have been working so far.
Is there a way to tell the G15 to use a profile rather then quick macros?

Thanks everyone.

I programmed 1 of me mousebuttons to reload weapons and the other to activate/deactivate the thruster slot
Would be nice to have 1 button to fire all weapons but then again on missions i usually split up my weapons on 2 targets anyways
CCP, let us pay the online shop with Direct Debit!!! Magners is now recruiting, evemail me or Dagazbo ingame.

Originally by: Chong Vang I have no problem setting up a macro for firing all my missiles at the same time, but when I try to make a macro for mid slots, it activates the high slots.
Is there a trick to make macro's for mid or low slots?
The way I am during it is pressing the "MR" button, then pressing the "G#" key I want, lets say G17. Then I press and hold "Left Alt" and then press "F2" and then "F3" and then let go of "Left Alt" and then press the "MR" button to stop recording. But then when I test it, it acts as if I only pressed F2 and F3.
Another Idiot that can not play the game as it was made and that need Macro's to do any thing! I hope you get pop and podded fast !

Am I the only one that have the reading ability to see the difference between "key strokes" and "mouse clicks"? (the latter one also includes mouse movement, btw)

I didn't read all the posts. Too many off topic about the legality of using a G15.
Anyways, what I do is have G6 set to activate all my hi slots. If I want all mids, I press Alt+G6. Saves tying up another key when there's no need to.
IIRC, you can't set Alt+, Ctrl+, or Shift + as bound keys using the MR.

Originally by: Bishman82 It's the same with any game, flight sim pilots get an advantage from using joysticks, drivers-wheels/pedals, FPS-high quality mouse and games like eve benefit from keyboards that can remember key sequences. The g15 is just worth it for the screen when using ventrilo
well said.
at most egoshoters all players with highend 800$ videocards (or realy crazy one with two of em) have hugh benefits over normal players with 200$ to 250$ cards. petition: forbit all highend cards and do not alow to combine two cards! (one 8800 gts == 20 * G15 keyboard. even one 7600 gt == 2 * G15 keyboard. one widescreen 22'' TFT == 5 * G15 boards)
people with to much money buy 2, 3 or 40 accounts with highend LANs (see multiboxe gaming) and do thinks where other need to find groups for. petition: forbit multi-acc, multi-box gaming! (many of you will cry loudly with all the alts)
where do you benefit more from? - a G15 with some keys assigned to one key - two acc where one is a Commandship with 3+ commandmoduls sitting somewhere at a save spot - third acc with a Logistic ship that remotrepairs you
well, close your second and third accs for 90 days and buy a G15 if you belive it gave you more of an advantage ;).

Why should people with arthritic conditions and RSI be forced to 'play the game as it was'? If the game was meant for you to activate F1-F8 to activate all the high slots, whether it took one key press or eight, its still all the same thing.
Also, aren't keyboards, mice etc a 'shortcut' for entering data into a computer? BAN EVERYONE!
I think what people here have is a problem in distinguishing between a macro and a bot.
