We have been having issues with the bulk data download. We are working on a solution, but there is no ETA as yet.

After the patch was finished downloading I got a message that said "some file are locked so you must restart you computer".
When I restarted my computer and opened up EVE I got an error message that reads
" Your EVE client installation may have modified, damaged, or corrupt files. Please reinstall the game client. File C:\ProgramFiles\CCP\EVE\bin\vivoxsdk.dll"
So do I need to unistall EVE and then reinstall the whole thing or what?
Thanks

I have had the same problem with the client crashing after the patch " Your EVE client installation may have modified, damaged, or corrupt files. Please reinstall the game client. File C:\ProgramFiles\CCP\EVE\bin\vivoxsdk.dll" along with a few more damaged files. I don't know if it is becuase i am running vista on this machine or not but i had to uninstall eve for the last 2 patched and redownload the client and do a full reinstall.

It would be nice if these were updated more often if you want us to refer to them. It looks like you still have the same list from before Rev 2.2, and have not even updated them to include the issues introduced with Rev 2.2 let alone 2.2.1, and 2.2.2.

That's exactly what happened. It's the same issues that have been up there for 6+ months. They merely changed the title from Rev. 1.x Known Issues to Rev. 2.x known issues. It's been pointed out before. Will anything get done? Very doubtful.
EDIT: I'll go ahead and toot my own horn here. My thread about the known issues page here.
You'll notice the bug report page isn't up-to-date again, either, as you can only report bugs for 2.2.0. Nifty how some things never change.

The latest patch destroyed my settings (again). logged in and it was all fine, dc'd then logged back in to find my settings got destroyed. - TQ has encountered a database issue, we are sitting around wondering why it has crashed this time, waiting for 500,000 petitions and watching the forums fill up. |

My cache backup isn't working either :S
Are you running with the LUA:OFF option? If so, and your client disconnects and restarts it stops using the LUA:OFF flag and reverts to using the cache in your user directory.
Restarting the client completely and running again from the right shortcut should fix that.

Edited by: MynChu NicAtoch on 25/09/2007 15:33:56 Update corrupted - something about a file already in use but it didn't say which - I selected the reboot option but it didn't. Rebooted the pc myself and it errored - some blue.dll file missing. Can't find a kog of the error though. It then told me to reinstall. Downloading the client now .. should finish in a few hours. :(
thanks blizz!

Some anti-virus programs are reporting the file redistd3donly.exe, which is located in the C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\ directory (default installation), as a virus and preventing some members of the community from playing EVE after patching.
The AV programs flagging this file as a virus include: PCGuard from Virgin Media, F-Prot by Frisk Software, Iolo Antivirus, AT&T Internet Security Suite, and Verizon Internet Security Suite. Some of these programs allow the user to add exclusions, that is one work around that will allow you to play EVE until the software companies update their virus definitions. We do not recommend disabling AV software in order to play EVE.

Yes, I am using LUA:OFF, but even when I manually reopen the client my settings are still gone. They don't seem to be saving properly either, for example the overview keeps resetting. - TQ has encountered a database issue, we are sitting around wondering why it has crashed this time, waiting for 500,000 petitions and watching the forums fill up. |

As this is affecting a larger number of our players than first thought I have logged support calls with Ioio, F-Prot and PCGuard. I can not log for the others as they are bundled software provided by ISP's and the ISP demand I be a customer before they will talk to me.
If you are not using one of the above listed products and are suffering this issue then you will have to log a support call with them to advise them of the issue.
I will keep you advised of any responses I get from the companies involved.

Avast works fine - free version available as well. Also one that works on vista.

My game no longer starts. I click the Exe file, get the normal splash screen and then nothing. No screen to add password or name, nothing about server online, no messages telling me anything. Just nothing. I uninstalled game and reinstalled, made no difference. I entered firewall settings and manually gave full permission to ALL eve files, nothing. Turned my anti-virus off, nothing. Does the word NOTHING seem to be repeating itself here?
As for a bug report, i wouldnt even know where to gbegin to start that one off. As usual CCP come up trumps.

In addition to the RedistD3DXOnly.exe file, the stdlib.ccp file located in the C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\lib\ folder is also being flagged as a virus. Please note that both of these warnings are false positives.
