I've been doing exploration quite a lot recently, and Cosmic Anomalies that don't despawn are becoming more of a problem to me. I'm perfectly fine with using the ship scanner to help find out if unknowns are escalatable or just cosmic anomalies.
But it's become virtually impossible to know if there is a escalatable unknown because of these despawn problems. This leads to much wasted time and probes.
Is there a workaround I haven't heard of to make things easier? And are there any fixes in the pipeline?
Please give any help you can, I just need a light at the end of the tunnel here.

Totally agree ccp pls fix this. Remove cosmic anamolies from being identified as unknows so we can see if there is a plex present or not. Ive also wasted a lot of time probing for unknowns with the intention of finding a plex while all along the unknown was a cosmic anamoly.
There is absolutley no need for probes to be detecting cosmic anamolies (multis or any other probe) when the onboard scanner can detect them faster and easier.
On the point of them not despawning ive also found this a problem. Some sites even when mined, all rats and buildings killed, still dont despawn and come back empty even after dt, thus interferring when scanning for new ones.

Yeh, when i first started probing i wouldnt get this problem but alas now i do, and if it wasnt problematic enough scanning, finding something and then jumping back to get yer fighting ship now you have to clear all the anomalies first apparently? a lot of people have a lot of different opinions on the subject.. i dont even know what probes to use for unknowns anymore??

i think it would have to do with cosmic anomalies being part of the exploration system originally. And besides, removing the Anomalies from the results of probing would make EVE seem a bit... uncanon. Speaking from a 'canon' perspective, if a iddy-biddy anomalie could be picked up by a ship, then heavens knows it must be picked up by probes that have a greater, dedicated scanning power

I too have been running into the same problems. I have found MANY anomolies that done despawn, and craploads of unknowns that cannot be scanned down.
If its true that unknowns are really anomolies.... Thats just lame, Im scanning for Signatures not Anomolies.

I wonder if filtering the multispecs results could work. Like you choose which scan groups to look for, and if multispec finds something not in those groups it doesn't tell you. With that ability it should be easy to know if it's worth the time to be in that system.
