I couldnt agree more, but it is the antivirus that my company uses. Norton doesnt come near my stuff at home. We are getting 7 dl380 G5 Servers pretty soon, and I am going to petition the owner to get AVG or something better than Norton. That old ewido they took over, is the best antispyware you can get period.
Norton doest seem to catch anything that is 6 months or younger as far as viruses or spyware, while thier email scanning completely blocks email access and about every 4 months or so, I am reinstalling it because its corrupt and wont allow other desktop programs to launch...hell, it wont even launch.
Its hard to convince companies that Norton isnt the top dog that the IT industry claims. They have like some sort of mind control hold on IT admins. _______________________________________________ RuntimeError: ChainEvent is blocking by design, but you're block trapped. LOL! I should maybe have prefaced my post a bit better and put " Legally"
I just purchased a renewal of internet security 2006. The last step in the checksheet was to allow me to download 2007.4 which they claim has a fix for my problem. It was a joke actually.
I am not sure why they didnt just make me download and install 2006 again and use the keycode. There was something corrupt in my installation and I am certain that reinstalling the product would have fixed the problem. _______________________________________________ RuntimeError: ChainEvent is blocking by design, but you're block trapped. Havent heard of NOD32, I will check it out. I have heard of comodo and just have never used it. I am kind of a peer2guardian fan because I like to take a more active roll in what I am blocking. However, its hard to convince my boss that despite all the articles that love Norton, that it is crap and there are about 6 antivirus products out there that do enterprise stuff that are better...much better. _______________________________________________ RuntimeError: ChainEvent is blocking by design, but you're block trapped. First off, who the F**K uses Norton? Its garbage. Period. No discussion necessary.
Second, Why would you go through all that? That's not cool. I would have shot an analyst by the time the 3rd one came on.
Third, Good laugh, but I would recommend Avast Anti Virus Home Edition. I run it and it works fine.

I know, I dont use it either. It was my bosses laptop (who is the owner) he is religeous IT standard guy. He is starting to come around though when I saved the company 2000 bucks recovering the info off of a bad spindle motor Harddrive with nothing but freeware (and the freezer in the employee cafeteria LOL!), he starts to trust my outside the box thinking a bit more! _______________________________________________ RuntimeError: ChainEvent is blocking by design, but you're block trapped. NOD32 and Kaspersky is conciderd superiour due to their way of detecting viruses and such, by scanning and looking for virus like patterns, both use very little resources but have a very good detection rate (amongst the best IIRC) unlike most other AV's that use gigant databases and thus take large large resources, also NOD32 and Kaspersky very good at detecting new viruses and modified viruses thanks to said scanning methods.

actually, this isnt a bad idea. I should test a couple of these out and put together a report for my boss. It is his network, but I run it. _______________________________________________ RuntimeError: ChainEvent is blocking by design, but you're block trapped.
