Well, depends on what it is you wish to sign up on, if you mean things like roundtables etc you will sign up to those at the Fanfest.

The size of the area assigned to your group is based entirely on how many signed up for it. -------------------------------- Senior GM Spiral EVE Online Customer Support Team |

Spiral .. Could you please elaborate on what will be in an "Area" and how it is/not separated? ie. How will Jita areas look like?
Eg. - Rooms with tables - Beanbags separated by moveable partitions - Tables in an open area - Tables separated by ropes

Any way for them to sign up for it? so it wont look like Jita 4-4 undocking in there?

An "area" in the context of the Jita area at the Fanfest will consist of tables and chairs reserved for your group. It is an open area so you are not walled in or in a booth or anything like that. It is a small area where you can meet up with your group, plan your Fanfest activities and take a break when you have to. And probably the main point is, you don't have to fight for a table and chairs in the public area to do any of the above.
We were hoping to do more with this, but time and funding constraints cut quite a bit into that.

The seating and space allocated to your group is based entirely on how many signed up. This is the main reason why we are restricting this to groups over 5 people and why we needed people to sign up in advance. If there are a lot of people coming to your group that did not sign up then you might just get to experience the authentic Jita atmosphere live. We'll see what we can do for groups like that but seating is quite limited already so I can not promise anything.
We are going to the venue today in the afternoon to organize everything. Your tables will be marked with your alliance logo and name so they should be easy to locate. Corporation only groups or groups with no clear affiliation will only be marked with their corporation name (alliance name in parenthesis) or group name.
I will be at my "office" in Jita (got it fairly cheap too) during most of the Fanfest if you need help with your area or if you have questions. I will have other GM minions helping me or covering if I am not there myself.
See you all there. -------------------------------- Senior GM Spiral EVE Online Customer Support Team |

Cheers Spiral, clarification much appreciated. Don't sweat budget/time constraints, the players in Jita will surely be appreciative of a place to sit and sweat off their hang-over after spending their time blowing their beer budget.
Might bring some ear-plugs in case local gets too loud in the mornings

You got the logo on the table (or you should have). I put the logos of all alliances that were the part of each group where possible on the tables they were located at. Some alliances don't have a logo yet so we had a few oddballs like Red Alliance and Otherworld Empire only having one member each registered (hi Chribba) yet they got a logo at their table.

Not entirely accidental, see below.

You were the biggest coming in at almost 30 members. We were attempting to put groups that were near each other within EVE itself, near each other in the Jita area. My minion, GM Sunshine, even cruised killboards for many of the corps and alliances that did not have sovereign space to see where they have been most active lately.
AAA were the biggest and due to that we decided to use them as an anchor at the end of the Jita hall and organize the rest out from them.
Naturally, like a triangle with all 90¦ corners, it fit together...
Some groups ended up in a fairly odd location, but mostly due to the fact that we have a limited amount of tables and seating so most of the smaller groups had to share a table with another small group or with a part of a larger group.
P.S. I wish to thank the goons for moving their flag. It was blocking my view of the mountains.
P.P.S. I wish to also thank Mercenary Coalition for asking before attempting to hang their banner from the ceiling...
P.P.P.S. And finally I wish to thank Star Fraction for returning the table they acquired from the CVA group. It is back with its rightful owners now... -------------------------------- Senior GM Spiral EVE Online Customer Support Team |

Thank you to all Jita residents.
It was great seeing that our faith in the community was based on a good foundation, which was espescially apparent when I came accross MC and Goons sharing a table and a laugh.
Also a big thanks to all those who had to endure sharing a table with another alliance or entity
A special mention to Star Fraction who took it upon them self to liberate Unity Station from the hands of CVA. Was wandering around for a few minutes looking for that damn table thinking 'Who the hell steals a table?!?'
To finish this off: If you have an idea as to how we could improve the Jita area for next year, please send a mail to [email protected] so Spiral and myself can have a look.
Thank you all, see you again next year
Best regards, GM Sunshine EVE Online Customer Support |
