I'm sure this has been asked before.
Is there anyway to get trade skills besides being born with them. If death doesn't kill me...nothing will. |

A friend of mine just told me yesterday, he had bought the 'trade' skill (NPC prices reduced). Was a bit sceptical, didn't see it myself, but he has no reason to lie about it, so...

I found it in an Abandoned Container once, many moons ago.
It's still at lvl 1 since it doesn't hasn't been implemented... or has it?

Have it on '1' since the start, been waiting for it to do something since the start as well.
There have been Dev rumours that it will lower the NPC taxes at stations when you sell something, but up to now it's just been rumours and it doesn't do a thing.

It enables you to sent goods to an other person. Click on char with right mouse button and as give money, you can give goods. At least thats what I learned from it.

This skill will change EVE forever. I have read that all named mods will go thru traders. The reseason is incredible. The day will come when named mods and non-scc items will be called contriband. Concords mission will to remove all contriband. Only traders can save the item and owner from Concords rath. Soo what happens is if you find this named mod and travel close to a concord who will scan your ship if he finds the bad stuff.......... this is the issue that is holding up the skill implementation. The trader will have some ability to remove the mark. I have not heard much lately but beware of the swift changes this cause.
Everything you know of the Trade channel will change. Some items will not be in empire space evermore. The whole game will change... This will be bigger than any patch before. --------------------------
Garsh ma it soo cool killing people in there space thingies |

Actually, this skill HAS a function right now. I don't have it so I can't confirm it, but according to rumour it's supposed to reduce some NPC fee (don't remember which one) by a very minuscule percentage. So like if you have it at L5 you should get a 0,35% (wild guess - but not far from it I think) reduction to that certain fee. I know there's someone out there who can confirm this pityful effect. Surely this is not final, it will change.
I like Harisdrop's post. Where did you hear/read this?
