Well i started looking today for applications which used the API for more than skillsheets and mainly one for checking market transactions and orders etc and it got me thinking, wouldn't it be handy just to add a small API section to the technology lab section just to make it easier to locate API threads and maybe a sticky at the top with links to useful API apps, just my 0.02isk :) ---------

I thought EVE Technology Lab is only for API, and Game Development is about anything else...

Um, does anyone know how to access the api through just a URL?
I can access the general apis(not authenticated items) eg. http://api.eve-online.com/skillstuffs...
However, when I try to use access the authenticated areas using Url + ?userId=MyUserID&apiKey=MyApiKey it gives me an error stating my userID is invalid...
However, if I remove the userID or ApiKey sections, it gives me errors stating the fields are missing, this being said, it seems like this may be possible, but I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
Help would be appreciated...
Is it even possible?

Edited by: Tonto Auri on 08/10/2007 16:06:38 It is possible but deprecated. You should use POST request to access API data. -- Thanks CCP for cu<end of sig> |

Yes, I know I need to use Post, my question is, what should the URL look like?

Got it...
http://api.eve-online.com/char/WalletTransactions.csv.aspx?userID=(MyUserId)&apiKey=(MyApiKey)&characterId=(MySpecificCharacterId)
In case anyone cares...
1 hour rule is in effect, so you must remember that you will get an error if you retry too soon. Also, I think it resets the 1 hour counter??

Hmmm, the url works when I type it into a browser, however, when I try to access it from OpenOffice (using a post method form) or as a direct url query. All I get is a "wallet exhausted" error. I have tried waiting for the indicated time (1 hour) in case I accidentally accessed in the previous hour, but same error, even on a query after an hour.
Any ideas?
