I am gratified to see that CCP is finally making freighters that will be able to use a jump drive. That is a welcome addition to 0.0 logistics and perhaps carriers will be used for more than fueling poses now. However, I have some suggestions about this ship.
1) They should not be able to operate the jump drive in high sec. They should have to power normally through high sec and then operate the jump drive in lowsec or 0.0. 2) They should require freighter V so that not everyone can get into them and level 5 in freighters is more useful. 3) They should have 2 rig slots and say 4 lows. This will give the flyers of these ships some options for fitting it out instead of jsut having it as is. I would love a rig added that would reduce fuel used and/or one that increases jump distance.

If they adding jumpdrives they need to make it require capital ships skill and banned from highsec

Ever heard of a cyno field in high sec ? What would they jump to ? What are you thinking they need ?
Any capital jump ship requires a jump to location, no way anyone is going to do this on one account.
And to add to that, if people start setting up chains for NPC Jump-A-Drive-Freighters, well guess what, I'm sure the pirates will have cyno characters in system waiting to get them (using location agents, not hacking). -- EVE Tools for cell phones and Windows/linux/Mac systems http://evemsp.sourceforge.net/ |

Slots would be nice. Just spent 100 million on implants to increase my freighters HP by 3,7%

Well if these freighters can use normal gates as well as jump drives, then they would be able to jump from high sec to low sec.
Of course no one knows if they can use gates... probably not. but no one knows

I'd rather have a smaller T1 version of a freighter then a damn T2 one but thats just me.
Actually, people have been asking a lot about having something inbetween the biggest hauler and freighter, some sort of cargoship, say 100k base hold and a few slots (1-2-2 comes to mind) pricerange about the same as a Tier 3 BS i think, and needing hauler L5 offcourse.
I have no need for a freighter but a 100k cargoship, i could use. CCP, let us pay the online shop with Direct Debit!!! Magners is now recruiting, evemail me or Dagazbo ingame.

What a collosal **** take. A jump driving freighter - oh thats great. So all loots can be jumped from station to station into low sec/high sec jump off in complete safy. The only risk will be the warp to zero into high sec *snort*
Its bad enough peeps are doing this with carriers.
Now they are making a BIGGER ship to do it.
I know CCP are trying to drive me from the game with a combination of nerfs and boost designed to RUIN anything i attempt to do - but this is ridiculous

Try and set up a cyno in highsec. Chances are the risk will be greater on the way back. ______________________________ A Request About Lag Discussion -- Yet another "Edit my sig devs!" request \o/ |

cant put Low Slots and Rig Slots on a Freighter without restricting it so it cannot fit expanders of any description OR cap the cargo capacity to 1m3 under 1mil

where do you see a jump drive?
there is no jump drive shown in any of the t2 freighter pics, nor are there any jumpdrive skills listed.
all i see in those pics is a smaller (225,000m3) version of the obelisk. ----------------------------------------------- --- EVE Online, Nowhere to run, Nowhere to Hide---, except apparently in noob corps |

There is other changes that might need the capitol freighter on sisi. Btw its the ammar one with a jump drive:)
The other change is most large mods on sisi is about 100 m3 in volume. Dont beleive me check volume on modules on sisi.
We do have to take the crystal ball into account here. As mentioned in other post stuff on the test server and in the items database is not final.
check the volume on capital components they changed also. So we might need small freighers with jumpdrives on them just to move stuff around.
If god was a number he would be over 9000!!!!!!!!! |

I still fail to see where you saw these 'jump drives' All I've seen up to now is just a smaller freighter size pic and also this cannot be T2 but mostly tier 2! Inventing T2 Capital ships ? Somebody must be mad... one Capital bpc takes weeks to copy!

You miss my point. You set a cyno up in the last lowsec system next to a high sec.
You set it at a station and can inst dock if the heat comes in.
You then have the only element of risk - the warp to ZERO on the high sec gate. This is entirley safe in a freighter unless you are wapring in on 1000 smartbombing battleships
Hence - CCPs much vaunted and farcical "risk vs reward" mission statement is proved to be a load of baloney AGAIN

Edited by: Amateratsu on 07/10/2007 17:31:03 Yes eve is a pvp orientated game, but its not 100% all about ganking and pew pew pew..
If you don't like it, do what you pvp'ers like to tell the carebears to do and adapt or leave.
There is a hell of a lot more to eve than just blowing stuff up all the time.
These new ships will add a lot more veriety and challenge to the game.

Good idea.
Ill just go set up an alliance of 1000BS to smartbomb freighters on warp to zero.
