The EVE backstory concerning the battle between the Amarrian fleet and the single Jovian mothership provides clues to the military technology that the Jovians possess, but are there any ideas as to the economic systems/technologies available to the Jovians?
I bring this up because a post I came across awhile ago mentioned that CCP keeps the Jovians "locked away" because their advanced technology would introduce such an imbalance to the military aspects of EVE. Does anyone have any ideas/speculation/thoughts as to what economic superiority the Jovians might have, how complex their economy is, and how an opening of Jovian space would effect the current EVE economy?

I don't worry about things that won't be happening any time soon. Wasted effort since anything we speculate at this time will likely be invalidated if, not when, CCP decides to open this chapter of the game.

Jovians have perfected replication technology. They can create any object, regardless of it's complexity, so long as they have the blueprints and the appropriate amount of basque cake (from which all matter in the universe originates).
Thus, the Jovian market revolves completely around blueprints and basque cake. Occasionally one will see the emergence of a new, bolder dessert pastry but they are usually halfhearted ventures that nobody really finds appetizing.

And to think, all I have aboard my freighter's a Nutrimatic. And the damn thing refuses to make good tea!

Tea is considered a delicacy in many parts of the Galaxy. However, the advance of Jovian Pod technology has made it very hard to enjoy a good cup of tea.
It is also a strong Brownian Motion producer. When a Brambleweeny57 sub-meson brain is linked to an atomic vector plotter suspended in a nice hot cup of tea, finite amounts of warp energy are created.
This scientific effect was used to manufacture the jump drives commonly used in some of the most inexplicable ships designed by the lesser races of the Galaxy, as they can't completely comprehend the raw unfiltered power of hot tea.

Allowing this is like letting the gods mingle with men. This has tragic consequences.
