Hitokiri 'ger wrote:I downloaded the automatic update and then restarted client........nothing, the banner fires up then the client stops responding. Can't get it to work at all, tried copy pasting an old copy of the client and same thing happened, i saw the login screen but after updating it didn't reappear and the program went unresponsive. Any ideas apart from a full new dl?, takes me like 20 hrs to download that and I'm in the middle of a char sale Oh, I'm on Vista btw.
Could you try to run the repair tool? You should be able to find it as "Repair" in your Start menu (if you have a standard installation) or you can start repair.exe in the client folder. CCP Habakuk | EVE Quality Assurance

Valinar wrote:I'm receiving an error message whenever I start the client after patching, I'm unable to install client update #1, and repair.exe is unable to resolve the problem. I'm running the client on Windows 7 64bit. Do I need to download and reinstall the entire client? The details... After patching, when I start the client I get: Quote:--------------------------- Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!

An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
After clicking OK in this dialog the application appears to start successfully and reports version "7.21.334648 (334471)". If I run repair.exe (which reports version 3.39) I get the message "Completed successfully. The EVE Online client was successfully repaired" and log: Quote:Restoring folder: "C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE" Checksum Database: "-ChecksumDB at 'C:\\Users\\XYZ\\AppData\\Local\\CCP\\EVE\\C_PROG~2\\checksums'-" Build folder info: __name__: main version: 7.21 build: 334471 codename: EVE-EVE-TRANQUILITY region: ccp cryptopack: CryptoAPI sync: 334471 branch: //depot/games/branches/release/EVE-TRANQUILITY/eve appname: EVE usescriptindexfiles: 1 socketio: iocp role: client aid: 0 server: Tranquility port: 26000 edition: premium Repair URL: "http://cdn1.eveonline.com/334471/RepairData_334471.dat" Client Directory: "C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE" Caching disabled RestoreFolder input values: folder = 'C:\\Program Files (x86)\\CCP\\EVE' url = 'http://cdn1.eveonline.com/334471/RepairData_334471.dat' hashdb = -ChecksumDB at 'C:\\Users\\XYZ\\AppData\\Local\\CCP\\EVE\\C_PROG~2\\checksums'- safemode = False datapiles = () downloadFolder = None cleanupDownloadData = True downloadThreads = 5 whitelist = [] ignore = [] (1/7) Downloading index: Initializing ... Restarting the game client after running repair.exe produces the same error dialog as before (containing code R6034) and after clicking OK and allowing the application to start I get a notification about "Crucible 1.1 Client Update #1". After clicking OK the update is downloaded and I get the message "The client update has been installed. The client will now restart." But, after restarting I get the R6034 error again. If use repair.exe again, the client update notification is once again shown suggesting that I am unable to install client update #1.
Have you already tried disabling your virus scanner while running the repair tool and running it as administrator? CCP Sputnik | Software Engineer |

Could you delete eve.exe manually and try to run the repair tool again? CCP Sputnik | Software Engineer |

EDIT: Also please make sure there is definitively no ExeFile.exe running on your PC before doing this.
I checked that ExeFile.exe wasn't running (it wasn't). I disabled my anti-virus. I ran repair.exe as administrator. I started the client. No help: the error message is still appearing. The log from repair.exe looks prety much the same as before.
Could you try to delete ExeFile.exe manually and run the repair tool again.
PS. Thanks for hanging in there everybody. CCP Sputnik | Software Engineer |

Khamal Kahn wrote:Update doesn't work on Mac. AGAIN! Arghhh!
I know. I should just crawl away and remain silent. Once again CCP shows they don't give a rat's anus about Mac users. Once again - as usual - I am forced to download the entire client. Once again, CCP doesn't care.
What else to say. I've said it each time and nothing changes.
Oh! And did I forget to say it is once again on BOTH Macs that I use, not one unique system.
I would really like to know more about this, what issue exactly are you experiencing? Are there any error messages?

To people having the R6034 Error:
We are investigating this issue, sorry don't really have a lot of details yet.
I saw somebody mentioning that this message can be ignored which allows the game to start, can somebody confirm this? CCP Sputnik | Software Engineer |

Valinar wrote:Yes, at least for me, if I click OK in that dialog box the game continues to start and appears to be running normally. However, the problem does prevent installing any client updates.
Can you elaborate? Does the pop up message appear? Does the client shut down automatically after? CCP Sputnik | Software Engineer |
