Ok, so weÆve all heard about this big compression nerf coming up with revelations 3 with modules going up in size (100 meter BS weapons LOL nice one CCP) by a lot expecially capital ship modules (which is dumb anyway). Most people just think that this is being done because of the whole thing with jump freighters (which will be about as popular as Polka and look like it) + blockade runners and all that stuff but I think theres another reason why this be being done, and it goes back to us not being able to trust the developers of this game. I really wish CCP would just get bought by people who werenÆt such bad managers (Sony would be awesome û eve on the PS3!) but anyway I feel that this situation needs to be bought to life.
CCP and the Mineral Compression Nerf is because of certain Players
Lets take a look at some of the evidence: 1. Mineral Compression nerf is mostly used for low-end ores like trit, pyer, and mex 2. Minerals like that are mostly found in high end space 3. New ore types are probably going to be found in highsec 4. There is one person who does a lot of mining of low-end ores in empire space
With all this in mind you can conclude something huge: Chribba (and hit veldnaught lol) is responsible for the mineral comp. nerf because the developers owe him for the stuff he made. Because chribba made eve-files, eve-tube, and eve-search + other sites, he is getting special treatment
How? Well let me explain it to you if you havnt figured it out already. Heres whats gonna happen: 1.Mineral compression is nerfed 2.New minerals are put in empire space giving more trit, pyer, and mexallon 3.Less ore is taken from high-sec into 0.0 even with jump freighters 4.Prices of trit and pyer go up because of new ores to hurt macrominers* 5.Chribba gets even more rich!
*the new mineral banamine (I think thatÆs what itÆs called) is useless but macrominers will be unable to tell easily
Since trit output it nerfed by mineral compression itÆs obvious that whatever methods people use to bring minerals out to 0.0 to build will be decreased, even including the new jump freighters and the boost given to blockade runners (space transports need one). But wait, thereÆs a different way for people to move lots of trit and such out of empire, a different way of compression related to the new capital industrial ship û the compressed minerals like compressed veldspar. Who mines veldspar all the time?! Chribba.
So he starts selling all this compressed veldspar for crazy prices and makes huge profits as a result! But what about macrominers who help keep the price down? Well CCP has been helping Chribba out here too (and IÆm not surprised). The new minerals like banamine will make it harder for macrominers to turn a profit because theyÆll be mining it and other types of veldspar. ---------------- Tarminic - 29 Million SP in Forum Warfare |

Edited by: Tarminic on 16/10/2007 18:00:39 This is a really stupid idea! Forcing this mineral compression change onto us (for the benefit of the chribba) is a very poor way of showing support for your players, even if he did make several eve website that look ugly anyways. It kind of helps to fix a problem but it creates more problems in its place, kind of like a few useless modules (capacitor batteries and flux capacitors anyone?) but thatÆs a different issue. But my point is the same.
Forcing this change on us is like overreacting to global warming and forcing us all to buy carbon points to drive our cars (yeah, that sure is an inconvenient truth eh?) or like combining American and Chinese food (I had some last night and it sucked) but either way my point is that theyÆre trying to fix a problem my making things even more convenient and adding or combining things that should stay separate. At the same time if we keep adding all these things (will we add more high end minerals to 0.0 now?) itÆll become too much for us to use very well and itÆll increase lag because of all that extra crap in the database too. When are all these things too much CCP? Not to mention lag-causing.
So what can we do to help fight this kind of thing? I have an idea. Whenever you lose a ship to lag or to anything related to lag (like desync), petition to get your ship back but not as a ship but as the mineralsàthis will put more trit and pyer into the market in 0.0 and low sec so Chribba wont be able to make as much money û maybe if we put him out of business heÆll get depressed and moved to Kusu island or something (Singapore sux anyway)
So start doing it ppl! Maybe if we can force CCP (using their own game model ôplayers make everythingö) to stop favoring Chribba theyÆll at least have to find other people to hook up with though I bet considering some of their GMs they all are getting it on (especially at fanfest).
Theres more to this story that involves none other than SirMolle and Seleene (of MC) but thatÆs a political story so itÆll be in the alliance forums. ---------------- Tarminic - 29 Million SP in Forum Warfare |

They are doing it because they love me.
I went to CCP and camped out in front of their office until they let me plug my laptop into their network.
Ever since then, CCP has been a highly efficient supercomputer that can adapt and learn from the environment around it. Just like Terminator.
Only it's actually a highly evolved virus that runs it. No OS. Just a virus.
The Nerfinator.
And it's because of me, not Chribba. In fact, the Nerfinator was thinking of making dreads fit only basic miners, and running up the CPU use on it.
It thinks it would be funny.

Whats so fascinating about these threads by Tarminic is, no matter how outrages he is people are STILL being sucked in and responding with the flame thrower.
A really good example that maybe 95% no one actually reads a thread fully, but respond on gut instinct...

Chribba is not the reason for the compression nerf. Has really nothing to do with him.
What happened is that some things when reprocessed offer better compression than offered by the rorqual. Well someone decided to fix this. The initial fix was to have a penalty on recycled modules such that this would no longer be a better way.
Then several 0.0 alliances complained about how it would make their logistics worse if they messed with the reprocessing amount. So they changed it so that the items would be a different size.
I think this new solution is worse than the original and they should drop it and then assess the penalty to reprocessing of modules as originally planned.

You allege that we are affecting the natural progression of the environment in favour of a customer you perceive as favoured by us. This should not be tolerated.
Here's the thing. I've perceived myself to favour posting in topics either made by you or in which you've made an appearance. Thereby giving that topic a golden banner signifying CCP presence which, in theory, could alter the number of views and replies said topic receives. This implies that my perceived preference for reading your posts and thus altering the forum environment by replying is a tell tale sign of intolerable favouritism.
Your devised punishment for this alleged crime is to punish the player by enticing the playerbase to force our hands with somewhat surreal methods. I can't imagine what that would come out to in this case but I'm sure someone can offer suggestions.
Oh, and in the case non of that sticks: I believe you misspelled his somewhere in there.

At the moment, more Trit enters the game Rat loot refining that enters the game via Mining. The mineral compression nerf is not intended to make moving Ore from A-->B more difficult... it is to allow mining to be the primary mineral source.
Also, its a stated goal of the "Mineral compression Nerf" to move production from 0.0 to lowsec. If there is more Trit available in 0.0, there will be less need to compress and transport it from 0.0. This means lower profits for the Macro miners, and a decrease in the price.
As the "veldnought" can mine a fixed amount per hour, and everything I've heard indicates that the new ore will only be available in lower security space... out of the veldnought's reach.
Cribba brokers Billion ISK deals, and among the most trustworthy players in EVE. Even if you triple the daily profit he make from Veld... its still a drop in the bucket for him.
