The Dominion trailer was good in this respect. There's little fancy "lookit me, I'm doing cool flying" and more "suddenly... HOTDROP" and "OHGODTHATDOOMSDAY".

There's always going to be a bigger ship (or collection of ships) that is able to instantly kill you. It's the alpha game. It's up to the person flying the ganked ship to ensure that it is not profitable, not fun, and overall not worth it for people to gank him.
This includes fitting a tank to make ganks harder, not flying inappropriately expensive goods in cheap/weak ships, and shielding transported goods from scanning via the "double wrap" trick. |

This happen for MMO but you stand in door and only 1 maybe 2 people reach you. You in tank behind hill can shell many. There no way for one in EVE but there way for RL one or few to defeat many.
I am see something about make lock time more slow when other people lock you. I think this good mechanic. Zerg is rubbish. |

There are ways to take on multiple people as one person. If you're fast and have the range (like a Vagabond or a Cynabal) you can do "drive-by" shootings to pick off their weaker targets.
You can also draw off their tacklers and kill them before their "heavy firepower" gets there to help them.
You can also do gate-jumping games. Let most of them aggro you, then jump through and take on the 1-2 who were able to follow you.
You likely won't be able to kill all of them, but you can win a battle of attrition. "1 vs many" is not an easy fight, but it is possible.
You can also count it as a victory if you deny them a kill (by not dying to a suicide gank, for example). If you survive a suicide gank, you could also be evil and have a small gun fitted on your hauler, and shoot back while CONCORD kills them. That way, you get a kill. |

Overheated Warp Disruptor II disrupts to 28 km. When you have a cruiser that goes 2500+ m/s non-overheated and can kill interdictors in only a few shots, you can get some pretty sweet kills. It's very risky, though. |

Most of the trailers look like they make use of the "advanced camera controls" option -- it lets you anchor the camera to something, but have it watch something else (so you can have flybys and the other stuff that's in the trailers). Though, yes they do use cinematic scenes where you most likely can't get those angles (e.g. the CQ from the crucible trailer).
The other thing is, they can re-run the same 4 second scene 97 times to get the shot "just right", whereas we don't get that luxury (unless, ofc, we're making a video with our mates, and don't kill each other at every "take"). |

They have both the advanced camera controls, as well as much tighter control of all of the ships running around, and can of course film stuff from many angles at once to get the coolest possible angle.

Hang on...
You are just no finding out that the trailers for things are not like the real things ?
Welcome to the world dude.
All games makes themselves look way better than they are to play. So do adverts. So do movie trailers.
It's not false advertising, they just want you to see 'the best' of what they have to offer, so you buy them. Why do think the single from an album is always the best track ? And why do you think most WoW adverts are totally unrelated to gameplay ? Because if you just showed normal people pictures of people standing still and pressing the attack button then it would make the game look terrible.
The point about eve's trailers is that they show how the game is inside your head. If you've ever been in a big fleet op where theres warping around and jumping caps and counter drops and stuff, it feels exactly like that. It feels awesome, even though you spend most of your time zoomed right out and not even seeing whats happening on field. |

A few reasons why this would be a bad idea:
- It doesn't work because people will just start using more autocannons, blasters, and drones for suicide ganking (which can get off 4+ shots)
- It nerfs solo play a lot. If you have an enemy trapped in a station and are sitting outside in your arty Hurricane waiting to kill him,
he can re-dock twice over by the time it takes you to fire 4 shots.
- It nerfs anti-support roles in big fleets, and gives fast tacklers an unnecessary buff (you'd be able to charge headfirst at an arty ship and not even care)
- It makes arty useless.
- It makes no sense. Why would six 720mm shells not be able to kill a shuttle 50m long in one shot? Or, even less sensically, a barrage of eight 1400mm shells?
Many of these "simple changes" are not that "simple". The simplest thing is for industrials to just fit tanks, but we all know that won't happen. |

Because there will be carebears who refuse to tank their ships or fly them properly again and again. And I will be here to tell them to learn to fly their ships and stop asking CCP for the solutions they already have access to... again. and. again. |

A deep space transport can have a buffer of over 40-50k EHP. You need multiple battleships to alpha that, at which point it is no longer worth the price.
The Cloak+MWD trick does not care about fast targeting or hidden targeting. Simply use it whenever there is anything possibly threatening you and you're safe. T1 industrials can't pull it off (not enough powergrid for MWD), but they should never be used for high value transport anyway. |

That's 40-50K without sacrificing too much cargo capacity, either. A mastodon with 2x LSEs and a DCII, otherwise filled with cargohold mods and rigs, will have 45.6K EHP, and this is with 23K cargo.
...that's 5 tornados to alpha it. |

You can get an Occator up over 150k EHP for less than 400m. You need ~20 tornados to gank that. With a bit more effort, you can get it over ~200k. Or use an Orca which also can get over 200k, and can hide valuable cargo perfectly. Single-Shard, Player Driven Sandbox.
