ok just saying out loud what i'm thinking right now. I'm flying a Maelstrom ratting in 0.0 and i'm more than tired of those interceptors flying around harassing us knowing that i cannot kill them with my 1400mm artys...
then i told myself...how about you fit like this and wait at a gate or in a belt for one of them to think you cannot hit him.
Highs: 4 small AC and 4 small arty Meds: shield boost, 2 actives hardeners, MWD or AB (not sure that useful), 20km scrambler and a 90% weber. Lows: 2x tracking mods and 3x gyros
Do you guys think that could be a good enough setup to wreck them out for good? i know the ship cost a lot, but i just want to know if that idea could be good..plus it's 40 mil insurance, so not that bad! hehe Would it be better to fit all AC or all Artys? And would the tracking on Mediums AC be enough to hit them?
Thx a lot guys for your come back on this!

Come meet me in Venal at any time and kill my stiletto with tat dumb setup and I'll pay you triple for every module you destroy on the KM. Ceptor is not rigged nor has any faction.
That must be the dumbest post I've heard in a while. It will kill a a frig or a cruiser, but not an inty. ------------------------------------------------ (Recruiting ad) SRBI regrutuju! Dodjite na nas javni SRBI kanal. |

If you really want to catch player interceptors, there are a few options
A) The Autocannon Sabre-goes pretty fast, has dual webs if they're ever caught, good DPS, and has the tracking to kill them. B) The Huginn/Rapier. Web range bonus = dead inties C) Heavy energy neuts. They can't MWD without cap, and many of them are on the bare edge of cap stability. D) Faction/officer webs. ------------------------------ One more soldier off to war... And one Velator in my hangars. |

If your ratting in 0.0, then don't refit your whole ship just to kill some interceptor who is a bug on your windscreen. Just Fit a webber.

Domi: Neuts Done nav comps armor tank
Warriors at 12km/s picks of most inties, especially if they're without cap. Even if it's just 120 dps or whatever.

The answer is indeed the rapier with 2xSB + 2xbest web + mwd + disruptor. You stay about 15km away from your friend in his ratting BS(cloaked obviously), when the inty comes near you on his orbit you overload your medslots and pwn him.
Everything else wont work due to the inty either being able to get out, or seeing the trap beforehand on scan.

What moment of drug-addled ignorance suggested you should hunt songbirds with a tank? You have to be in deep friendly space to even think this is a good Idea.
1. What do you do against the occasional battlecruiser that wanders out and giggles at your mighty waste of isk? 2. Why do you need to stay in a battleship? 3. Where are you ratting Please?

Fit neuts or get yourself a Domination stasis web and overheat it. then watch the Ceptor go pop. <----------------------------------> Carebears aren't people, they're giant flying piniatas.

Quick note. Medium ACs can and will track a ceptor outside web range but it takes excellent trajectory analysis and possibly even a hardwire. My cane with 220s can track ceptors easily. :D <----------------------------------> Carebears aren't people, they're giant flying piniatas.

This.
That was my default answer until i saw they're increasing interceptor range beyond even neut range, now nothing can touch them

I was hoping to kill them with warrior II's and some drone nav computers but they're still faster than the drones by quite a bit. I too am confused as to how the average piolot is supposed to kill them in a non specialized ship without officer mods (meaning not the huggin...). Even a t1 fit inti is going to be deadly post patch :(

I have to agree. CCP has killed any defence a bs has against ceptors, and dont give me the BS should not been flowen solo rubbish. Take a look at any scifi movie/series, ceptors/small ships are meat shields and die by the dozen, Hence they are cheap.
Soon CCP will have us all flying frigs because they are fun and risk free pvp...whippy doo.

Oh and all the people giving solutions to kill ceptors stfu this thread is how to defend against 1 in a bs if u get caught not how to kill 1 if u know its coming.

Oh my God! I can't disentangle my clumsy Huge Battleship from a ship DESIGNED TO TACKLE. What can I do?
Same answer for every other problem in Eve: Either have support os scouts. Bships are not meant to be able to untangle themselves alone from dedicated tacklers...

___________ I learned to accept ship changes months ago. Suddenly I enjoy Eve. You should try it some time. |

The trick is to not hunt them with BS. Killing ships significantly faster than yourself is never easy regardless the shipclasses involved. It is alot easier to deterr them, for example with a damp or neut.
If a kill it must be, a saber f.e. can shred a inty quite horribly, tackling any ship with medium t2 ACs is generally a very bad idea for intys aswell, likewise for med or small pulse laserboats.
Besides that, the new EW frigs will also be very annoying for ceptors, and not just the minmatar one. The amarr one i expect to surpise many ceptor pilots with a quick neut overload and the succeding pwnage.
