...if they're changed like on SiSi atm.
So far RSD II's have 48% -> now 17%. Thats only 30% left of their original strength!
Same goes for Tracking Disruptors
And then there will additionally have to made a choice, if you either like to effect the targets TargetingRange or ScanResolution -> Scripts therefore will work like ammo.
With these changes they're are not worth the slot they're using.
Arazu, Lachesis and the allready gimped Curse and Pilgrim will get very, very useless now.
Electronic warfare will get beaten the crap out of it and it simply will come down to who can tank better and/or deal more damage. Valid setups with Drones and EW will even more vanish, as the Drones just got their beating with the new changes as well, so it will be down to: Who has biggest guns and most damagemods.

Relax. They haven't released scripts yet. When that happens you may have a reason to complain.

I'm going to wait for the dev blog before getting ****ed over this one.
It's always possible that the scripts will keep the ewar modules useful in the "single-mode" operation (range or scan res for damps) on bonused ships.

EDIT: Forgot to mention my suggestion to make all the whiners happy.
Reducing the strength of those EW-Mods by 40% would've been totally fine, as for example 1x SensorBooster would've negated the effect of 1x RSD with this number.
If you've get hit by multiple EW-Modules... well... you should get the shaft. Simple as that.
Fitting EW-Modules should be a viable form of defense, not just a gimmick to have more items in the database.
pic of changes? And yes what it has devolved down to with these changes is who can have more dps. yay. gallente wins again. hah. well actually with the torp buff caldari may win.

Also without the scripts RSD's are totally worthless to fit now, even on an Arazu, where I get 25% strength out of them now on SiSi.
With the stacking-penalty applied that results in 55%, when I fit three of them on my dedicated Dampener-Ship! .

Yeah, but the point is, the scripts are like, charges, that let you change what the module is doing. So yes, without them, they suck. Bit like a tachyon beam, without a crystal.
However... well, EW seems to be unpopular in EVE these days. ECMs were merely first on the chopping block -- Crane needs more grid 249km locking? GMP and TNP |

Well, if it were up to me, ewar would be boosted beyond belief... but then again, I always play rogues and clerics too..

The Scripts will boost one effect of the modules by some degree, yes.
The question is, how much they'll increase it's strength. They better go for a 100% increase, with the "charge" or no one will mind fitting them.
A RSD, with only, let's say 40% strength to only one of it's attributes, is not worth wasting a slot, when you're better fitting some CapRecharger or whatever in there. .

The only rational explanation for how badly EW is getting the nerfbat is that they want more people in a fleet battle to be dedicated to EW and thus reduce the total amount of DPS flying around.
I think there will be people that fit full EW. But then they will get primary, and the fleet battle will turn to full DPS winner-is-he-who-locks-first.
I dunno, made mods stack a little harder instead of less benefit from each individual unit?

Seems like this game wants everybody to go close range tank 'n spank and as a result of that we're seeing many speed fits due to it beeing the only decent counter to it, how long until they nerf that aswell into obliviation?
- Ah well, might aswell go and train for a blastathron and be done with it...

Drones/Remote Sensor Damp/Rails has been my favorite tactic so far. Whats next, rails are getting the nerfbat?

The scripts are good imho, if they work the expected '+x to stat 1, -x to stat 2' way.
It'll also be a sort of stealth remote ECCM buff. Got your lock range reduced and lock speed increased? Switch your RSD to the other side and put it on your friend (though you could as well slap it on an enemy). Minor and micro management, but cute.

Those changes are made to improve cooperation. EW will now be used in gangs and not as solo-ship disabling modules. This is good.

As if you cared about this ewar module!!!! Most likely u are crying why ur RSD can NOT dampen ANY ship to < 10 km so that ur blaster/drones ship can finish the job....
This change is good... it will make specialist ewar ships shine... and reduce the NO-BRAINER RSD mid slot... (Tell me y fit a tracking disruptor or target painter when RSD works with any target?). ewar ships will do their ewar thing with limited dps capability... dps ship will do the dps thing with limited ewar capability...
That's balance.. now any kind of ewar modules will be significantly important to a dps dealer... and ewar ship get to to what ewar mods do currently...

Same has been applied to sensor boosters and tracking comps.
Sensor BoosterII is only 30% now, but has a script to go with it.
Tracking comp II is now 15% optimal and 7.5% tracking with a script.
If i had to guess i would say the modules will work without the script and give you the bonus to both attributes, or work with a script to significantly boost one at the cost of the other.
Interestingly enough, changing sensor boosters and tracking comps in this way will make it virtually impossible to effectively fit for sniping.
So along with ewar, sniping is another playstyle you can throw on the scrapheap.

I fly both, Gallente and Amarr Recons, so yes I care for for Tracking Disruptors as well
And specialized ships shining? I can't see that, when RSDs or TDs are "beaten" that hard.
Log in to SiSi and try it yourself... with 3x RSD II' on an Arazu you won't impress anyone atm.
With the scripts, well, I'll get a + this - that boost for my Modules, acknowledged, but then I've to fit it like 1 Module for Scan Res and 2 for Targeting Range and that with less strength then before.
As I said: -40% to their strength would've been totally fine. But as we know CCP, they're never getting the right numbers and the nerfbat is allways hitting too hard. .
