Nanoboats have always been around, but because there is no obvious solopwnmobile right now people have taken to whining about them because they are hard to kill.

It's not a fad, it's the way Eve is these days. Nanoships and capships online. Leave everything else at home. _________________________________________________________

No, you have incredibly jaded members of 0.0 alliances speaking.
Every ship has a place in 0.0. Nanohacs are popular because it's hard to die, saving isk on losses.

jaded: 1 : fatigued by overwork : exhausted 2 : made dull, apathetic, or cynical by experience or by surfeit <jaded network viewers> <jaded voters>

Its because they are great for small offensive gangs. Mobility is win for roaming.

Exactly.
They're fast and mobile - it's basically like an inty gang, although they don't work so well since Hitpoint buffs. In an age of blobs and capitals it's an effective solution. A small gang has enough dps to take down a Battleship this side of 2010 and if a cyno pops up and dreads and carriers(unwilling to delegate fighters because they want to be top damage dealer don't trust their corpmates with their expensive hardware) pour through you have the benefit of not being stuck in a heavy, slow clumsy clunkship. You can also get round most bubblecamps as well so long as you don't lag. If you need to go afk for a short time you can burn in a safespot which makes being caught more difficult. All in all it's a useful ship to fly, that's why you're being asked if you fly them.
THUNK!
