The Minmatar need our guidance.
Just look at the recent activities of the self-proclaimed "freedom fighters" in the Republic - they refuse to accept the authority of their own leaders! It almost seems as though rather than wanting freedom for their people, they want to impose their own will upon them. Clearly this would lead to anarchy in the end, as they cannot all be in charge!
So the best solution for all would be for them to just accept the rule of Emperor Doriam and let fate take it's course.

There are continuums other than empires that stretch over the winding aeons. Thinking "I am the universe" is not deluded, it is the truth for the same thread of existance -- the world-serpent -- twists itself through each and everyone one of us, though it certainly should not be reduced to just words that are a license for a spiritual emptiness, but quite the contrary.
We -- the Minmatar tribes -- do not need any unity beyond our shared past and this sense of being that we have as humans. Our society may seem primitive and caught in unending strife, but there is power hidden in these ways. We are more connected to the world-soul for shunning the complex patterns that bind empires together. Our bonds are those found naturally in the world, without contrivance.
Do not forget that we are the one society your Empire could not crush and we have demonstrated that in the face of adversity. By your aggression we have become stronger. The same it is with our tribal ways. We may quarrel, but at the end of the day when the battles are over we lay down our arms and embrace our brothers and sisters. It is at that moment when the mystery is revealed to us. But when faced with external peril, we unity against it. We're vibrant, adaptable and always in motion, constantly redefining the society we live in, but never trading away that which makes us who we are.
Indeed, I believe a greater threat comes to us in a more insidious form. It is the natural way of empires and states to subvert foreign powers and so as our Republic has entered the galactic stage, we have drawn the attention of others. For example, even in extending a hand in friendship, the Gallante have sneaked their ways into our society. I fear the Republic we have created will become a cess-pool spawning gutless politicians like Midular. I fear that they may barter away more of our soul than would be wise, in exchange for what others have defined as culture and sophistication.
Sometimes we come to a point where discussion is almost pointless. The Amarr have tried to sell their values to us and we did not want them. Understand that we will not bow before your Emperor. We have attempted to explain our traditions, but you have not heeded our words. We must either agree to disagree or be drawn to conflict as two naturally opposing forces.
I have taken the time to explain the visions I have seen not only because I wish some among the Amarr would understand them, healing the rift, but I also speak to my Minmatar brethren. While I see danger for us ahead, I also sense a great stirring. Once more our ways are threatened, even if from within, and once more we heed the call.

Barroz, your words energize my spirits like a large capacitor charge!
Unity where and when it counts, and diversity and adaptation the rest of the time.....
Honoring the past while keeping the future free of it's restraints and limitations.....

You say that to all the girls Wren. Especially the Brutor ones.

Hush you wandering vagabond!
End your travels and come back to your tribe. The halls do not feel the same without the FunkMasterT.
And uhm, no I don't. Sometimes I just tackle them without a word. --------------------------------------------------

Edited by: T Dave on 04/03/2004 10:48:36 When will it be that people will finally get past their self-obsessed, patriotic, nationalistic views to see that we - all of us - are, really, no different from anyone else?
I long for that day. That day when the whole of the EVE World will sit back in their respective ships and stare at the wonder of all the millions upon billions of stars and planets - all different shapes, sizes, lifespans - and realize the simple truth:
We are all one. Whatever superior force there may be out there is ruling over us all. Our personal beliefs and rivalry stand for nothing in the grand scheme of things. We should not be fighting each other for our own, petty beliefs, but fighting for all of our rights, as one being, the one being we actually are.
That is the day I dream of.
But my dream has pangs of horror in it - a dream on the brink of becoming a nightmare. For I fear that, in our current climate, this dream, should it be achieved, would incur awful bloodshed, unlike anything seen for a long, long time, if ever. That is not the way it needs to be. But it is the way I fear it will be, for the simple reason that, on all sides of this equation, we have too many prominent figures who favour strength over wisdom and understanding. This much history has shown us throughout the millenia that have passed before us. And every time it has been proven that allowing brute force to take the reigns and lead us does not work. But every reaction produces an equal and opposite reaction, and we can all take hope that the one power that seems to try and threaten all that I dream for is, like so many failed ones before it, an Empire. Every Empire has it's day, and I am glad to say I truly believe the Amarr Empire has seen it's own. The Empire is a system of the past, not a path to the future. And the end to such empires is the first, and most difficult hurdle we all must overcome in order to progress towards a united society. But without that boundary being crossed we cannot, realistically, even begin to focus our attentions on the actions and prominence of the power-crazed individuals who threaten every move we make. The two go hand in hand, everywhere.
But, what point am I really trying to make?
The Amarr race and traditions do not matter. The Gallentean race and traditions do not matter. The Minmatar race and traditions do not matter. The Caldari and Jovean race and traditions do not matter. The only thing that truly matters is that we can realize that we are indeed all the same, and by working together we an only strengthen our own positions.
I do appreciate many will find this hard to accept and leave me open to much abuse/ridicule for sounding out such feelings at such an early age. But I feel it needed to be said, and those who rise to abuse me are simply proving themselves to be an example of all I have layed out previously: you jump to the defence of your own customs whilst disregarding everyone else's. Why, oh why, does it have to be that way? Have we really all become too blind to see that we are on a path to self destruction?
I shall leave this point there, for I fear I may have digressed at times when it was unnecessary. And for this I apologise. This was not a planned speech, this is just thr writings of a young man, frustrated with the self-degenerating spiral the world he cares so much for seems to have got itself into.
And so I leave you to disect and abuse my argument.
Take care of yourselves and your fellow man my brothers and sisters.

But I would advise Wren not to tackle any Brutor girls, lest you yourself be tackled by them in turn ...

Having been a slave, and been made a "freed man" by my former master (who is still my friend), i would just like to point out that not all amarrians abuse thier slaves.
My former master allowed my mother to raise me, paid for all her medical expenses during maternity, paid for my education, kept my family in board and lodgings (my mother is still a "slave").
My former master set me "free" after I served in his personal military for 6 years, and offered me a commision in his military.
i gracefully declined, and he let me loose upon the universe with a small bursary to set myself up.
Slavery can be much malined, and brings with it responsabilities for the welfare of the owners "Slaves"
There are thoose who mistreat thier slaves, but any true followers of the Ammarian Religon would never stoop to such in-humanity.
these are just the random thoughts of a not to bright ex-slave, who holds the Amarr empire in high regard Julius ceaser : "operor vos volo MCCCXXXVII laganum bUBbLeS?"

Then may I say, Bubbles, if the only indignation you suffered at the hands of your masters was your naming, then you have been uncommonly lucky.

Asimir, you're a Brutor as well, but others have been known to break ...
As for our ill-named companion's thoughts on the Amarrians, I would tend to agree somewhat, based also on my own experiences. There is wisdom and power contained in their ways just as there is in ours. It merely seems our two great factions -- at least as political entities -- are bound to bloody conflict with each other. Ah well.
