I am in the market for a good Headset/Mic combo. Price is not an issue. I mostly want good sound, decent mic and (very important) comfort for long gaming sessions (generally an around the ear headset).
I prefer a USB headset but don't let that part stop you.
Opinions?

Edited by: Major Stormer on 05/11/2007 06:18:20 Out of stock on this site, but the sound/mic pickup is fantastic, and considering the battering I give them (constantly tripping over, stepping on them..etc), flipping indestructable.

Edited by: Rialtor on 05/11/2007 14:23:52 I just got the Triton AX360. I've been happy with it so far. it's a 5.1 headset and it's nice in first person shooters footstep wise. Haven't had any trouble with the Mic yet.
It's not USB though, I actually looked for something that wasn't USB this time.

i've got a Creative pair, which hurt my head and are generally rubbish.
i've also got a set from the poundland ("where everythings a pound") in swindon, which hurt my head and sound rubbish, but cost a twentieth of the price of the Creative ones.
when i bought them, i also managed to ask a shopmonkey in poundland ("where everythings a pound") how much they cost*. apparently they get asked that between five and six hundred times a day.

Plantronics Audio 70 Is what I'm using.
It's great value for money. Sits comfortable, and is light with the band around your neck. Good mic, and Good sound for it's price ( offcourse it won't beat those 80 pound headsets... ) And it's practicly unbreakable.
You might also have a look at the Plantronics Audio 340 Bit more expensive, overall better.
But it probably wont be good enough quality for you.

If money really is no object then you could consider a set of Sennheiser HD280 Pro's. Excellent microphone, comfortable to wear for long periods and they block out a lot of outside noise.

HAHAHA... I wish I had that kinda money...
I think if I did, i would spend it on upgrading my computer itself instead of a headset.

Edited by: Saya Hime on 05/11/2007 21:47:30 Check the Sennheiser PC13*, PC 15*, and PC16* series. Or the Koss SB4* series. Best ones for gaming and multimedia.
