I've been having a blast so far, truly the most fun I've ever had in Eve in the last 2 years. The use of tactics against each other has been excellent from both sides, and as they say they are ever changing. As darth rightly said, this is the first time that INSRG have gone range in fights, being very used to inurface pewpewpew, and it's lots of fun.
Great job to our guys, we're gonna keep fighting. To CPU, GSA and Stella Polar, keep bringing it, you make me hawt
I wrote it. I speak English and another language at the same level, but mostly English during the day. We are also far more preferential to close range fighting and using a lot of EW, but the campaign has called for serious adjustments in a lot of strategy and ship setups. CPU has always focused on smaller gang based combat, but since fighting M.pire its adapted to larger and larger fleets. Still this was the first engagement where both the BS fleets were at 180km away for much of the time while the support worked hard on killing each other.
And I must give props to our carrier group for their eagerness to deploy into the middle of a storm.

You have to put yourself in RZR's position too. Its not just about numbers - in fact the numbers of the GSA/Pheonix/CPU coalition are greater than RZR or MM.
RZR and co have a strong PvP focused alliance in the name of INSRG right on their doorstep, living in NPC stations (hence invulnerable), who have told them they would help defend their space in the event of attack.
It is agreed that INRSG are much stronger PvP wise than the coalition of alliances at the moment, since PvP is the number one activity.
Its much more useful in the long run to have a strong PvP alliance on your side, all other factors considered. At the end of the day, this is just a small turf war. But the stronger side will win, and RZR & Co are playing a very clever and wise game in seeing who that will be. Since only the strongest will survive and exist to protect RZR/MM space.

Absolutely. I think CELES and most of the corps in INSRG have more experience of the former but are showing good adaptation to the latter

you have to be kidding me mate if your corp really applied for serious and strong pvp focused alliance most likely you would still be on trial... how many alliances that grew over night you witnessed becoming great and respectable pvp organisations?
its smart move not to present yourself a challenge til you get your grip together but still i'm not interested in any subjective answeres of my question and you are not rzr official. i somehow manged to notice that

hehe... to be fair, you don't know anything about my corp, and if you did you wouldnt make that comment
It is true however, that there are a mix of capabilities on a corp by corp level... and so you do have to see how it develops. Initial signs are positive, I'm sure there will be teething issues, but there is very good leadership, guidance, and FC's which is really what counts.
Fat can always be trimmed, but you either have potential or you don't. Without great FC's and leadership, an alliance is nothing and those qualities seem to come naturally to certain people.

The whole RZR/MM standings thing and what INSURG would do if they actually replaced us is too hypothetical to be anything more than an amusing thing to think about.
There were so many ways the situation could have gone if X alliance made a different choice when dealing with Y alliance or taking action in P region instead of O region. It's fun to think about, but the situation is what it is and I think the actors involved are unlikly to change their positions very much if things keep at the pace they are currently on.
I do see this as more than a small turf war though, for a couple reasons I suppose. But one of those reasons is that this *is* in the context of the Great War whether anyone involved wants it to be or not. It would be a mistake to think that the New Eden war left the North when M. Pire, FATAL, and CoW did. My .2 isk on that anyway.
But back to the meat of the thread, this thread is restoring my faith in the EVE O forums. Currently, i hardly ever visit unless i'm looking for something in particular. But I liked getting insight into where INSURG is/was coming from and their views on how it's going. Furthemore, the respect level on this thread is heart warming in itself, let alone when considered in the context of the COAD forums.

I think we are fighting because we have respect for them and their abilities and as such we are improving ourselves with this conflict and that would defeat the purpose.
News flash: Alliance losing members at an astounding rate but it's okay cause I just saved a bunch of money on car insurance by switching to Geiko.

This the post that was meant to go out.. the other was a mistake which all of INSRG were annoyed at.
We apologise to all of our enemies
PPL are always wanting to know what we are doing up in the north and i hope that posts like this can explain a few things. We hope our enemies are also as interested to see how it was for the other side.
EVE-O should be a place for posts like this, so i hope you enjoy the read.
Thanks to (SYLO)Felysta for the write up.
d solo.
Much better, more informative, less inflamatory post, darth. Props to the author(s).
I particularly appreciated the write-up because I have, to this point, had to deal with a lot of fallout from this conflict without really having much detail on what has been going on apart from who the combatants are.
While RAWR isn't crazy about the conflict and the complications is causes us, we do believe that forging bonds in this kind of fire can be beneficial to all of the involved parties in the long run.

If Insurgency ends up winning out for Branch, the north would look indeed powerful (assuming that Insurgency gets a chance to build a strong cap fleet). You got Tri, MM, RZR, INSRG in the north (one might consider mostly harmless in this pact but they are literally mostly harmless). That group could possibly compete with the Coalition or the Alliance when looking at a large scale. The north can't be considered a major axis with Branch being home to several alliances. Branch needs one solid alliance living in it, not a bunch of small ones.
Btw, I don't think INSRG would just be there to "protect" RZR/MM space. They would demand the same protection if they were invaded. It would be on all equal terms (would probably be best for all 4 sides).
