Amen brother.. the north needs to constantly be tested in PVP to become better, the weak get destroyed the strong win through.
Its hard enough with 4-5 alliances against us, anymore would just make it silly with the only outcome being "back to NAP land".
The north needs to trim its fat, let those who cannot defend its space be removed, thats not directed at CPU who have put there hearts into this fight, thats directed at all alliances in EVE.
The end outcome will be that PA/STELLA/CPU/GSA get removed or that they win through it and become better pvpers and better space claimers. both outcomes are fun so no1 loses, unless isk drives your eve, then i pity you..
@Ricco Lonestar i dont understand ur post to be honest.
d solo.
Darth, I like you but respectfully differ on some minute points, i.e. I'm writing a wall of text. And I will lay out my personal perspective here. The north needs constant PvP, and thats why we love Tri and PA...without them and some others I would probably quit Eve because I don't know how to mine.
1.) What the North doesn't need is endless epic wars, especially one after the other and most alliances have barely consolidated anything, or claimed all their space, which is why timing is inconvenient. Frankly, some of us were looking for a break from fleet lagfests after fighting m.pire and fatal (where I didn't see much of insurgency) - I was personally hoping to return to small gang combat and dear old Tri. But wars don't run on schedule so we will just have to suck it up and deal, I just don't like philosophical bs being brought into what is a straight out fleet grind...there really is no higher purpose here. It us or you, and its not good for us. Why? Because you have nothing for us to take and therefore no way our alliances will gain. Were you to OWN territory, well then there would be two equal halves on this table, so personally I am sad as victory for CPU and others = no profit of any tangible sort.
2.) I would like to cut the fat, which we have a bunch of. But I don't care to hear of it from an alliance like Insurgency,or anyone else to be honest. We have dead weight, but we're also a far more diverse group of alliances with members who feel there is more to pursue in Eve than getting an extra 50/ms out of a****obond. Do you? I only do pvp, and understand my limited participation in what Eve has to offer, but you guys clearly don't because you think not fighting every day is somehow a lower calling. This is an old clash between different types of alliances revisited, and we shall see who will prevail.
3.) The old many vs one, which is untrue. Most of us combined are weaker than Insurgency alone plain and simple. We have 3 main alliances, and a few smaller ones, each far less powerful, operating in 3 timezones with 3 different languages. It is far harder, and more complicated, for us to assemble a combined fleet action than it is for Insurgency to do so. And as last Wednesday proved, we still find ourselves inferior in firepower when we work together.
That being said Insurgency can't do it alone, otherwise it wouldn't be recruiting like it is, bringing in more pvp pilots and cap ships and then claiming its many against one...well the one seems to be getting fatter. Thus far, alone, you are in J7 after weeks of conflict which to me is the slowest offensive seen in the North (I may eat those words next week). So the many aren't losing against the big one, but we're certainly not winning as the KBs show.
I do agree, we are putting our heart into the fight, and a few battles lost has only increased morale to fight harder and better. I don't think individually as alliances we will really improve, but working together as a group I'm seeing serious progress.

I must say that I'm thoroughly enjoying the battles in the North, however you are right, this has been a very slow pos war. That said you must admit that we're becoming more proficient at doing it as the alliance practices and shares experience

A very nice read there! It's never easy being worn down by a long conflict, only to escape it and be dragged into another, nor is it easy to overcome the language difficulties imposed by having several large groups. These two combined with the fact that the aggressor has a lot more experience in this type of warfare, and who doesn't have the above problems, can cause a real kerfuffle.
Respect for the attitude you guys have towards this conflict, and I wish you all the best in this conflit Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Valorem ([email protected]) |

Re: Hammar Wolf's comment about a slow conflict. I have to agree.
I'd just say that actually I don't think we're in a rush to do anything because we're all enjoying the fighting tremendously and long may that last. In a way I'm not looking forward to the final outcome because it will mean the end of some wonderful fights.

So long as outside enemies remain, and there's no shortage, I think this posturing is counter productive.
As long as Insurgency persists in their approach, I regard them as a cancer in the heart of the North.[...]
I know what you think, hell I can even feel for you, but real stuff is far less beauty than you think. This "trust and unity" doesn't mean crap without strong fleet behind, it falls like house of cards when it comes to real struggle. There were hundreds of alliances based on "trust and unity" and they failed equally without their teeth sharp enough.

Edited by: Alekseyev Karrde on 10/11/2007 23:37:59 The lag for our most recent fight was literally the worst lag I have ever seen in EVE. Forget BKG lol.
Lag is increasingly becoming the story out here, which is a shame because it's detracting from the great story developing among the player factions.
And to Koval: I actually agree with you a little bit. Trust and unity wont win a battle without a strong fleet. However i'm of the opinion the two are not mutually exclusive and I look to the history of the world and the history of eve for validation there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -Alekseyev Ambassador, Fleet Commander, Council Member =The Royal Guard= "=TRG=Public" Channel www.rgrocks.com

guys, tonight lag won as I'm sure you all know. I had 10 mins trying to reload our guns.
At first I thought all was lost as you brought 5 alliances (i think) from 2 gates. 200 vs 100. However I think Insurgency showed our class and I think the kb's and position in the const. will show we came out on top.
I'm sure somebody much better than me will post a full battle report.
We will try and pull all of our losses of the opposing sides kb, please feel free to do the same from ours. All in all I'd like to say gf and lets keep it coming!

As others have said, it's really nice to see this kind of straight forward, non-smack / propaganda post about the battles that happen. Saves us the frustration of having to read through all the crap that is posted. Finally some really good posts that aren't completely rubbish.
It would be nice to see COAD go in this kind of post direction in the future (non-smack, non-propoganda etc, at least where possible?). -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= "Now, we must all fear evil men. Edited by: Reprimander on 11/11/2007 01:40:16 It was indeed a rather laggy fight, especially at the start. That does happen when you have a coalition (Phalanx, Pheonix, CPU, Stella Polar, GSA) gang of 220 fighting our gang of 100... its a lot of people to accomodate in one grid load :D
I'm not sure all the various mails are up yet but you can see a summary of the fight at http://kb.insrg.com/?a=kill_related&kll_id=6791 (I'd give it 24 hours though before calling that definitive).
All in all, parts of it were fun, other times it was too laggy, but thanks to all for a smack-free and generally enjoyable fight when things did load.

Seems like last night was another epic battle(i wasnt there but i know the info)....
its starting to bother me how the enemy make temp NAPS with mutual northern enemies to fight us... its all getting a little silly, i could easilly get ppl to help us on a mass scale in these battles but choose not to as the lag would be horrific, our enemies should take heed.
if u cant do it yourself dont even try.
anyways, lag is always gonna be a major factor in this war as in any eve wars.
this is by no means beating into CPU, just some factors that iv been noticing. lets see what happens when the other towers come out.

Considering that the north as we know it held out and, eventually, was clawed back together piece by piece due to many working together as one...that "do everything yourself!" line rings hollow indeed.
And I wish you guys were as honest about your intentions as TRI is. There's no point in trying to dress it up in "we're doing you a favour!" when your actions make the truth as transparent as it is. You're a knife trying to plunge itself into the heart of the reformed north, and that's all there is to it. TRI is nice because there's no ambiguity about the situation - they shoot us, we shoot them, and nobody claims they're doing anybody else any favours except through providing the consistent opportunity for skirmish-scale pewpew. It's an honest relationship and I think everybody can respect that.
Honesty is refreshing.
So if you'd care to be honest like TRI, come out and say that you're opportunists trying to grab themselves a piece of land after laying low for all of the fighting against the New North; instead of throwing yourselves into that maelstrom and legitimately claiming a piece of the spoils like CPU or Phoenix Allianz did, you instead have opted to try to snatch away the fruits of their efforts - efforts made shoulder to shoulder with RAZOR, Morsus Mihi, and the rest of the crew - before they can even settle down. That's all there is to it, so stop insulting the rest of us with your platitudes.

Cadiz if INSRG northern enemies are having so many problems with us even making temp naps against us, dont u think that a serious EVE power would steamroller the north if this is quality of the opponent?.
CPU do not automatically deserve the space they have, u dont help fight for it in a massive coalition and have it for life, its not yours through default, u must defend and continue to defend it.
surely the blue INSRG north is watching this and is slightly annoyed that CPU/gsa/stella and all the others are napping phalanx and TRI to fight against us.. its like enmey 1 day, friend the next, rinse and repeat for whatever suits.
