With the new OS support for EVE, there are bound to be a number of questions on how to install the new clients, trouble shoot issues and more. Being the nice guy that he is, Lingorm has a new Dev Blog with answers and a load of information.
Interested in running EVE under Linux or Mac? Read more in Penguins! In! Space! (5 ISK to the first player that catches the pop culture reference.)

The lack of PPC is :(. I had been hoping, when Cider was announced, that (since Transgaming has source access) it would support it.

I've got an Ubuntu 64bit install, and it worked for me... and on an ATI x1950 card, no less.

Do you get an error when trying to install, more details would help solve this. We have a few Ubuntu machines inhouse and they are all 64 bit as far as I know, mine is at least and I've not encountered any problems with the install.

For me, the installation on a stock 64bit Ubuntu install did not work, but as I went looking for answers on the net, I ended up having to install Flash, and that installed a crapload of 32bit stuff, and somehow it all worked after that.

Great, works very well.
Multiple instances? Any way to do this without having 1 whole install for each instance you want to run concurrently?
Anti aliasing? On Xp you can config the graphics card directly. Not possible in OSX - any way to fix this?

Edited by: Thaibog on 06/11/2007 20:32:46 I have used TransGaming software before to run EVE Online and I have to say that it is good to hear that EVE is finally getting some official Linux support. A win for EVE and I a good development for Linux, finally a good game on Linux with support. Thanks CCP.

Ah, the splash and crash on using a cedega client with eve. For some reason I figured this would go away with an officially supported client. Guess I continue to use reliable old wine.

hey hey
Im not a linux or a mac person in the slightest but i have 2 questions :)
1. does the client run under the new Mac "leopard" operating system ? 2. Will EVE now run under the YDL that the PS3 is able to utilise ?
apart from that grats on finally supporting other operating systems . . . /me visits the apple shop again \o/
