Hi, I am trying to link the output from a medium reactor into a silo AND a normal reactor but the links dont seem to stick.
Looking at the output of the medium reactor it shows initially as -/2 which I am assuming means it can link to 2 things as it produces 200 units of the product ?
I want to store 100 units of the product in a silo BUT use the other 100 units as part of the input into the normal reactor. It accepts the link to the silo but seems to remove it when I then drag it to the reactor. Is this possible to do like im trying to ?
Setup im trying to do sort of looks like: -------------------------
Harv 1 / Silo 1 | Med reactor --> 100 units to silo 2 / 100 units to Reactor
-------------------------
Med reactor / Silo 3 | Reactor --> Silo 4
Hope this makes sense as it's frustrating me :)
Thanks

only a reactor accepts multiple inputs, they also have multiple squares. but only have 1 output possible. you can link them like this :
Silo > Silo > Reactor > silo > silo
or well: Silo > Silo \ Silo > Silo > Reactor > silo > silo
otherwist it's not possible with how the game works now...

Simply doesn't work this way.

No, it means it produces '2'00 untis instead of '1'00 units per tower-cycle.

Not the way you're trying it, but the overall concept is possible, although the pos-manage-process-tab isn't very helpfull by this... flow-chart anyone?!
You can do the following:
HS = Harvester/Silo S = Silo MR = Med Reactor R = Reactor CA = Coupling Array
HS-->MR<--HS ..........| .........S1 ..........| S2--->R ..........| .........CA ..........| .........S3
The chain which supplies S1 gives an output of 200, the R uses only 100, so the excess (100) stockpiles in S1. Although the whole setup runs on a caldari large tower only. The remaining CPU is barely enough to power a corp hangar array and some weaponary, so I hope you've got a quiet&nice low sec sys for this baby

simply put and without drawings, have the silo feed the reactor.100 units of the 200 will be stored in the silo, all you have to do is on fuel checks/product hauling days, simply clear all but 100 of the the extra materials from the feeding silo.
yes it is that simple. basicly every 100 hours you need to offline the silo, clear all except 1 hours worth (100 units)and place the silo back online. (based on Silo =20000 m3 , and most units =1 m3)
hope this helped

You can do without the coupling array to save cpu. Furthermore, if mined elsewhere and stored in a silo @ harvesting POS, then at this production POS, use silos instead of harvesters.

The CA is just for the rare occassion, where you can loose 1hr production.. If somebody is good in assuming the cycle-point of his tower and in need for 155 more CPU and 10.000 more PWR he can/should leave it out, right. But for a newcomer this might not be the case, so that's the waterproof-setup.
And I wrote HS and made a little index which states: HS = Harvester/Silo

Just a little trick to find the cycle time of a POS and it's arrays. When I set up a POS I only put in 23 robotics. When it cycles and generates a low fuel mail you will have the cycle time. I then fill the put the proper amout of robotics in and save that email. In over 6 months my cycle time has not changed. I always know exactly when a tower will cycle.
