Edited by: Oro Sarmasa on 07/11/2007 20:09:04 I used to go to Eve-Tribune weekly for war updates. In my little corner of it, my nose isn't that far from the ground, so it's nice to know more about, say, what's going on in the new "old" North, drone space, the far south, that sort of thing.
There's been this crazy blackout for three weeks now on that website, where it's almost as if they're saying "war? What war?" In fact, if an outsider came in and read the Tribune exclusively to find out what's going on, it'd seem as if the BoB pullout never occured, Triumverate didn't start rampaging through the northwest, and all the other delicate and constantly changing matters would be entirely unsaid.
Is this deliberate? Heck, the only thing even vaguely related to the war on the Tribune's been the "goons please stop ruining our forums" thing.
I'm talking any news, here. Win, lose, draw, go fish.

eve tribune is a quality unbiased newspaper.

Haw haw haw.
As biased as it was, it still made for a good read. Forums are slow these days, so... eh. Seems like nothing is happening other than a bunch of abandoned POSes being torn up day by day.

So the five-day weather forecast isn't quite "Welp" days, it's "Meh" days?
That was an awesome presentation, by the way.

Even for multiple alliances, it does take time to consolidate 3 regions.

Really the only exciting stuff is the skirmishing happening that you can basically see by watching the killboards or looking for the red blobs on the in-game map.

The war is cooling down a bit and both the GBC and RSF are consolidating assets and other crap that you just sort of have to wait for. There are some skirmishes in Fountain and some skirmishes in Catch but not much else is happening.
Just in case anyone was doubting it or the sov map, BoB has in fact abandoned the southeast and multiple stations are falling almost daily. Most of the Feyth and Paragon Soul stations are taken, and there are a few in Esoteria that still need to flip to RSF/neutral sovereignty. The bastard systems like 0OY and JO- (0OY was the system where we lost about two dozen capitals) have fallen too.
Not really much to say. All quiet on all fronts I guess. It's probably a combination of consolidation, Fanfest, and mostly just paying attention to the EVE: Trinity changes coming in the next month or so.
I mean hell, all of the alliances currently in "the war" have been fighting since this time last year. We're just taking a mutual break, and gearing up for what will probably be another year of war.

I thought the Trinity expansion is coming in November :(
..at least that's what Oveur said in his last blog.
Anyways, I totally agree with Oro - something's wrong with the Tribune. It used to cover almost all breaking news and war development from the Great War. The last 2 or 3 editions don't say ANYTHING about it. Weird indeed.

Hi
It has been my duty to write about the current conflict recently. However, due to the fast nature of events lately, and a couple of RL issues for me, this has been delayed. I hope to get a article for next issue with all the latest updates in the conflict, for both the north, south, and even empire.

The important thing is that they have a diatribe about Goons RUINING CAOD THOSE BASTARDS and whatnot.

I feel the same way. I'm just an empire player, but I like to know what's happening without having to sort through forums. Sadly, the Tribune doesn't carry the big stories. The last time they had a political story as the big news, it was something about FREGE.
I've noticed several major events happening and they go unreported on the Tribune. I will still read the website, but I wish it had better 0.0 content. |

The South is now the new North. The BoB vacuum is being filled by sh*tty corps that couldn't hold their own after having an entire quadrant of 0.0 taken, gift-wrapped, and laid on their doorstep.
But, yeah... keep us up to date on what you are all doing. We give a flying f*ck.

Already in the works my friend, but it will be a bit splintered due to Eve's worldwide base. We're doing games of Canadian, Australian rules, Paralympic soccer, American, FA, table (foosball),EA Sports 2007, rugby (union only), Gaelic, Madden 1999, paper, farmer and Tecmobowl.
:edit: Why the hell didn't I name my newb-corp alt alphabetically after my GS main? I always forget to change the damn "which character is posting" thing.

More like an 18 hour lockdown in one dead-end system, with gentlemanly rules, and only goons and BoBbits allowed. t1 frigs only, cept for the joint Sniper BS/Cap ship SB security fleet at the gate.

EVE Tribune has a disproportionately high number of FREGE pilot-journalists.
Now that FREGE has been run through the wringer, they don't have the assets to sustain wartime activites and keep their pilots on the front lines. Since all the OTHER alliances are playing their cards tight at the moment with the forthcomming logistics nerfs, it's unsurprising that they have no news to report.
However, as to the war in general... for the most part people have settled into a "wait and see" posture. CCP is the bigger enemy right now to a lot of alliances, since the ability to hold POS frontiers hangs on how large a crater Trinity makes. No point wasting funds to take stations you might have to conceed. Better to hold and improve what you have, figure out how you'll run logistics, stockpile real wealth in case of inflation, and generally not lose things fightings wars that may not help you in the long run.

Or we are just taking time to scratch the sack, have a few drinks, and get our isk on before making the final push at Bob no matter what CCP throws at us?
Cause seriously, we don't put anywhere near that much thought into it. Stockpile...inflation. Wtf man that is way too complicated.
