As the last President of the Freelancer Alliance (FLA), it is with great pride, and more than a little nostalgia, that I announce that FLA has just merged with Terra Incognita. Effective today, the FLA as an alliance is on the shelf.
Having grown in then been driven from our homes in Deklein, we sought our future in the South. There, we continued on our path, regaining our strength but, without pointing the finger of blame, letÆs say we were disappointed with the way things went and found limited opportunity to really establish ourselves to the degree we felt appropriate. Unlike Stella, in A Street Car Named Desire, FLA has never been inclined to have to have ôdepended upon the kindness of strangersö.
As we looked around, we discovered there were two alliances who respected FLA over all the others. ItÆs interesting to note that these were the two premier fighting forces in the entire universe, Terra Incognita and Mercenary Coalition. Interestingly we have fought with and against them both and itÆs in this context that they came to appreciate our tenacity and character. We are proud to have had the chance to fly with and against them both and equally respect the character they showed in battle and after.
Recently, we were approached by key members of Terra Incognita with the idea of joining forces. After careful consideration, we agreed that this looked like a marriage made in Heaven. Combining their military might with our administrative and industrial capabilities creates a paradigm where the whole exceeds the sum of the parts. Accordingly, we readily agreed and are now in the process of completing this merger.
As such, although the FLA, as an alliance, has ceased to be active, the special qualities that made it unique amongst alliances hasnÆt disappeared; itÆs simply been transplanted under a different flag and with it the new Terra Incognita will set about executing its own plans for the future with a new vision.

In closing this chapter in EVE, I canÆt say farewell without a few well deserved words of appreciation. First, my thanks go to KVEC who, during the early years, were the rock around which the original FLA was built. Pluvious, I tip my hat to you for your steadfastness that allowed FLA to evolve.
Personally, I want to thank the key members of my administration for their dedication and commitment to the FLA . One could not have had a better VP than Pikon. Astute, hard working and dedicated doesnÆt begin to sum up this man whom I have come to call a friend. When I had to take a LOA, Pikon stepped in and took the helm and even was willing to give it back when I returned.
I also want to single out Coldkill, who as Fleet Admiral did an awesome job in leading not only the defense of Deklein against the MC, but then worked tirelessly to rebuild our fleet in the ensuing months. Under his tutelage, I also want to give thanks to our Senior Fleet Commanders and Fleet Commanders. In particular, Senior Fleet Commander Ocara Nezus along with Wardey, Tartrus and DarkAvenger kept our fleets fit and competent. Efficient, professional and highly skilled these dedicated pilots never turned away from a fight. I am confident they will enjoy flying with their new alliance mates and will gain in stature and reputation in the months to come.
When you are an alliance who is not so big and so strong as to assert yourself with impunity, one of the most important groups in that alliance becomes the diplomatic corp and I am proud to say that, in my opinion, FLA had probably the best in all of EVE. Cjessa Vernon, Mocuker, DRACOseether, Quninella and ProfesserJoe displayed remarkable dedication and skill in dealing with the complexities of this fascinating world we all call home.
Above all, however, I want to give special thanks to Slinktress, our Head Diplomat and the spirit that nurtured an entire alliance for as long as I can remember. ItÆs hard to describe just how amazing she is. She worked tirelessly to hold this alliance together and to help it grow and prosper. She led her diplomatic core with amazing grace and acumen and remained calm in the midst of turmoil. Thank you Slinktress for everything. http://slinktress.youaremighty.com
Lastly, I want to thank all the members of FLA who flew with me over the course of the past almost 2 years. What an honor itÆs been to serve you. I thank you for your support and your loyalty from the bottom of my heart. I will cherish the memories of our time together in FLA forever.
And most of all, I want to thank the members of my corporation, AMESHA SPENTAZ who supported my taking the job as FLA President, despite the fact it meant I could hardly be there for you at all. Dyanicia, Rustiko, Cornhullio and all the rest of you wonderful guys; thanks for holding things together. I am on my way home!
But enough of the past, itÆs time to move on. FLA is now a part of history. The future is Terra Incognita. Long live SMACK!

OK rev i agree with your poasts but there are some things that need to be cleared up. Also i am trying to sober up for this thing so bear with me.
FLA should not be retired. In all honesty the alliance should be thriving right now. I loved FLA and what we stood for. I put everything i had on the line in its defence and regret nothing. When we lost dek i personaly had -500mill. Day in and day out i fought for our home and our ideals along with countless others. Yes i agree that the people you gave credit for worked their ass's off to do the best they could for the alliance. (ocara is my favorite nubbins of all time i miss you ) But you are leaving out all the true members that made FLA what it is and why it has fallen.
If there was one person that could be given the reason we held out so long against MC and their muppets its Bobby Atlas. He lead gangs everynight, got us ganks, commanded fleets, ran the pos's and organized the defence but he gets no credit. The deathnail of FLA was driven home with the decision to remove him from the alliance.
You are also forgeting the countless others that put their heart and soul out for the alliance. Pilots such as Goca, Con, weeble, other mickey and so many others that contributed to the survival. You are also leaving out IRON who up till the MC invasion was there for us at every turn untill the point when they could not fight anylonger. My old corp ARBL that put up half the active FLA cap fleet with our 2 chimeras. Also we had maybe 10 active members at any given time and was still in the top 3-10 for kills. God damn it i miss those days so much.
Your leadership lead to the demise of the alliance. I dont say this in any mallice twords you. You had to make tough decisions and i respect you for it but you continualy made the wrong choices. Now something i held very dear to my heart is finaly gone and it is a very sad day for the eve community. My goal was to return home when new leadership and the alliance was headed back in the right place. that is gone now.
To all the former FLA pilots i would like to say that it was an honor to fly with you and its a sad day to see our former home finaly fall. I wish you all good luck and many kills.

Just so u dont think were not posting losses, to add to dragons post... we lost 1 carrier and 2 battleships but they have been posted on independant corp boards.
Lots of fun to be had though, you'll enjoy it :)

I was carfull to say that it was just for dofa.
I think on top of what is on our bords there were 70 more kills.
but only 2 more losses.
Will have alliance Kill boards soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon!!! MRCUE TO THE RES-CUE!
