Ok, so I have done thousands of missions now (or at last that's what it feels like). I have done enough missions to let me use any agent in the entire Caldari faction, not counting the lvl IV or V agents due to them being inactive.
There seem to be the same rewards no matter how good standings I get, only change is they get bigger or more bps. I have never gotten a implant mission and still I read that people get like 3 a week. I mean, is there really a system here or is it just out of pure luck people get them?
I would really like to see if there is a system for what rewards you get. Is there really a system and does that system incorporate your standings towards the agent itself at all?
Any clarification would be greatly appreciated! =========-Fable - Mining Ops.-========= We are actively looking for large mining barge miners who want to make that extra isk in bulks. Join us today and get the best prices for your ore! |

Standing and skills (like negotiations) effects an agent's Effective Quality. Effective quality effects your pay slightly. Recently (I'm not sure if it got rolled in yet, or if it's going in in tomorrow's patch) Implant Missions became Important Missions (IMs). Which means your chances for getting an implant mission improve, as the important mission chances are regulated by the 'collosal bad luck' code, which tries to give everyone an Important Mission every 12-20 missions, assuming that person doesn't reject or quit (manually fail) any of their missions. The only randomness left would be when you're assigned an IM, it then has to figure out which KIND of IM you get. So you could always end up with IM-Kills, vs the IM-Courier for Implant mission.
Having an astoundingly high standing isn't entierly of any worth to a level 3 agent, any more than you having a an astoundingly high standing and working with a level 1 agent. Standings that high are useful for level 4 and 5 agents (which aren't in yet). Level 4 agents may appear Soon(tm). -- TomB: End the speed-race. 1 propulsion mod allowed, make turrets affect ship attributes like +speed/+ab speed +agil for progressivly smaller/lighter turrets, -speed/-ab speed -agil for long-range. |

PS : i think implant missions are already important missions only because i just got one from and important mission :)

So, is it entirely related to what corporation you do missions for then. Hmm, not sure if I make any sense here but for example, if I work for Lai Dai Corporation do I need to do missions for a lvl 3 Agent in any particular branch of the company in order to get implants? Is it that narrowed down?
I mean, if I do security agent missions or if I do distribution agent missions. Is this the main case here then?

Edited by: Foehammer on 03/03/2004 13:05:11 i'm doing missions for republic fleet mostly, i get about 2 implants a day(i do alot of missions), switched to pator tech to see what implant they have, and got one within 3 hours. implant seems to always be the same mission, transport 400 units of logs from some place to your agent, and it's not a bonus, it's the primary reward.
your standings doesnt really seem to have much to do with it, i got my first one after maybe 5 hours of getting my first lvl3 agent(which had negative q)
edit: i've gotten implants from both security and command from fleet.

Ok, this is really odd in my opinnion. I have been doing countless missions for a bunch of lvl 3 agents and haven't gotten one single implant. I start to wonder why and now I come to another dilemma. Might it be that you have to do mission in a BS in order to get the implants cause I am doing them in a Thorax. Hm, there is just no system in this it seems. Does anyone else have a functional explanation to what's happening here and why some people get them as much as two-three times a day or so?
Any explenation is greatly apreciated by all of us that hasn't gotten an implant yet.

Random Generators in computing are never truly random.
They tend to get stuck in cycles; since missions are "randomly chosen" in several stages, those who get them tend to get them often, while those who don't tend to skip over them constantly.
It's not more complex than that.

Does this mean, you are switching your agent often?
At least for important mission this is bad. Maybe this also counts for implant missions. Stay with one or two good agents.

gotten zero today :) i'd think noncombat agents would have a greater chance of implants from now tho, since they arent combat missions, i do missions in a rupture, hell, i built my tempest on doing missions with my rupture.

I have been changing agents but I can't say I have changed them before I have gotten important missions. I get them all the time...at least every 1/10 I guess, but I have never gotten an implant.
You're probably right what you are saying, but I hope everyone agrees that it's weird some don't get them. I mean, I have +4.42 with my current agent and 5.72 towards the company. Is this to low or should I have gotten one by now...at least one ey?

Totally random, I did 30 missions for an agent with EQ of 2 (neg quality) and got one. I rejected all non-kill missions except this one, which equates to 1 in 10 rejected. While my standing with the ageint is just ok my standing with the corp is close (5.7 at the time) to 6. I'm glad it tells you in the description that its an IMPORTANT mission and the reward is an implant otherwise "no i can't be bothered" would have been my response.

Well i think you have to work for only 1 Agent. I used to work for only one Agent and i got implants regulary. This omnious Datasheet mission. Then i started to work for an agent in a nearby station and work for both agents at the same time. I never got an implant again. Then i stopped working for one Agent and voila after a couple of days i got implants again. This could of course be pure random.

In reply to that I have been doing missions for this agent now (not doing any missions for any other agent at all) for about 6-7 days I reckon. I do get nice things but not as nice as those implants.
It would certainly be great to hear what some other people who's gotten implants did when they got them. I;ve had 2 implants in as many days, both were important courier missions for the Caldari Navy. I finally figured out why I was getting crap, my first lvl 3 agent had an effective quality of -6. So I though I'd do one more mission and got an implant. New agent with a quality of 25, got an implant mission straight away.
5.3 million for 8 jumps all around. Not bad I would say!
Can't think of anything witty to put here. |

So now my best guess is that certain corps just drop the implants after all. I mean, not only by the list that are posted here around in the forum, but just a few of em. I mean, I have done countless missions (lvl 3) for a couple of those corporations and gotten didely squat!
Maybe you guys who's gottem them frequently could post here and simply bring some light into this matter. When i used to do missions for Duvolle i got up to about 9.8 standing with them but noticed no improvement in rewards nor frequency of implants. Recieved quite regular "important" missions, but never a single blueprint (although hearing that others ended up with multiple bpo's of the same useless mod, i am quite sanguine about that!).
Was considering going back to missions as the inference was that some form of level4 agents would be in place after yesterday's patch, but as this is apparently not the case will persevere with mining, manufacturing and hunting.

I switched from Federal Admin (having done work for 2 different agents both Lvl 3 with Eff Q of over 30, and I recieved 1 social implant over the course of about 2 weeks) to Federation Navy.
It happened as a bit of a fluke as I was working for Federal Admin when I stopped in a station to complete a mission. I noticed there was a Federal Navy Lvl3 agent there, so I asked for a mission, lo and behold the important implant mission, having never done a Fed Navy mission before. So I completed the mission went back, did a few more missions and switched to the highest Eff Quality Fed Navy agent for Lvl 3. And for a while life was good and I was recieving an implant a day for around 3 hrs of playing. Recently the implants have dried up somewhat but just goes to show there is no accounting for a system based on random numbers.

Edited by: Richard Cryshaw on 04/03/2004 21:32:13 Ok, I have gotten 3 more important missions with my lvl 3 agent now and nada, squat. I always get a couple of Caldari Shuttle Bp's instead worth ****e and nothing else. There must be some sort of failure in the calculations regarding my agent career. Hm...this can't be happening!
If there is anyone out there ready and kind enough to give me a couple of hints...please do. Losing my faith in the missions soon!

Honestly, there isn't any secret other than what you're doing. I used to run 3 Fed Navy agents at once at a station. A corp mate of mine ran the same station. I'd get 1-3 implants a 'night' (being about 4-8 hours of work) vs him getting zero. He got his first implant last sunday, after doing hundreds of missions. There didn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to it. It's just a pseudo-random roll on the mission table. Slightly less random now, due to the fact it's an IM, but random never the less.
Sorry I don't have anything more encouraging to say. I've had people message me in-game asking me if I knew any theories either, and I've never heard of any sensical ones.

I did 12 pages of missions with no refusals for a single lvl 3 agent who was confirmed to give implants before I got 1. I then got 3 in 2 days. Then I went to another corp and my 2nd mission was for an implant. I then went another 9 pages running a single agent in another corp to get one. My corpmate came behind me, using the very same agents, and got 4 different imps from 4 agents all within the first 3 missions for each.
The system is borked, that's all there is to it.
Note carefully that as helpful as zrakor and papa smurf are, they have never even hinted at answering this question/issue.
