Thunderbolt Heavy Missile
Average Price - 7400 isk per 100 Missile (1 BP Run);
Minerals required (1 Run):
Tritanium - 446 Pyerite - 197 Nocxium - 2
--- 1 PLEX - 520 kk isk --- 1 PLEX = 70271 Thunderbolt BP Runs ---
1 Thunderbolt - 0.03 m3
7027100 Thunderbolts - 210813 m3 (1 Freighter travel)
---
70271 Runs
Tritanium - 31 340 866 Pyerite - 13 843 387 Nocxium - 140 542
In ORE
Scordite (Tritanium + Pyerite) - 37625 Parts - 12 529 125 Units Volume - 1 879 369 m3
Pyroxeres (Nocxium) - 12777 Parts - 4 254 589 Units Volume - 1 276 377 m3
---
Mining Gang - 1 Hulk + 1 Orca (2 PLEX = 1040kk)
Hulk Oreyield Volume per cycle - 1436m3 * 3 = 4308 m3 (All skills V !!!) Cycle Duration = 180 seconds.
---
Time to mine
Scordite - (1 879 369 / 4308) * 180 = 78526 seconds = 1308 minutes =
21.8 hours
Pyroxeres - (1 276 377 / 4308) * 180 = 53331 seconds = 889 minutes = 14.8 hours
Okay, i can mine 3 hours per day and i'll complete this volume in 2 weeks.
---
Time to build
1 Thunderbolt BP Run (PE:60) - 4 minutes.
70271 Runs - 281084 minutes = 4685 hours = 195 days (!!!) on 1 line.
20 days (!!!) on 10 lines.
10 days on 20 lines.
!!!!!! 2 PLEX !!!!!!
20 days on 20 lines.
Time for all this stuff to be sold - unknown. 1 week at least maybe.
---
Summary
Mine - 2 weeks Build - 3 weeks Sell - 1 week
42 days
if i merge production and mining phases - 4 weeks = 28 days. if i merge all phases (mining + production + sales) ~20 days.
As an other option - my buddy is a an agentrunner and he can earn a fraction stuff for hundred millions isk in one evening.
Hey CCP, why do you hate us, industrialists, so much?

LOL interesting numbers o_O So with 2 characters you will mine more than you need for the production lines. Hehe
The Industry might not be balanced but we go where there is profit. So by the end of the day it doesn't matter if they nerf or buff something we can adjust to the situation.
But what angers me are the hard to use INTERFACES (clickfest) and the boring mechanics of many industrial activities. Make industry more friendly to use and fun!
PS With all that minerals I would find an item that eats them all up on only 1 production slot. |

You're doing it wrong, buy your minerals instead of mining them yourself or join a mining corp and buy the minerals from there. Also, buy your buddy's salvaging and loot from his missions and melt it down. No reason to spend time mining that crap.
Edit: missiles are horrible to compare for this task anyways, they sell near cost and they're a slot waste unless you are converting to faction. There are tons of profit to make in manufacturing, you just have to study the market and do a little math. I'm getting into manufacturing and sporadically run 5 lines with all materials bought with my trader alt using orders. So far my profit in the 2 weeks of starting manufacturing has exceeded 1billion which I understand is chump change to most industrialist. |

It's always amusing seeing how people do stuff the wrong way and then blame EvE for it. Nyx in hi sec: http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/7929/highsecnyxforsale.jpg |

you're doing it awfully wrong.
while you're at it, try to deduct how much time will it take to earn a PLEX by only doing lvl1 missions.
this is about the same thing you're proposing here.
oh wait, you're trolling, right? |

Nevermind. I'm just disappointed about seeing the most ugly sides of market economy here, in EVE. The most arduous toil gets an insignificant profit. |

What you've described above in your original post is roughly equivalent to digging the Panama Canal with a little plastic shovel (fine, slight exaggeration). Why should the market reward such inefficiency? You're *electing* to do things the really arduous and, as already pointed out, inefficient way. Doing things in the hardest and least optimal way isn't exactly something that's generally encouraged by, say, business IRL. What you're seeing in terms of your gains is what you should be seeing: not much. Definitely working as intended since it is absolutely the case that you can make very good profit doing almost nothing else but manufacturing stuff and selling it. Herein lies a hint, by the way: don't spread yourself too thinly among the different tasks "industry" can have. Is it more work to produce items by going through all the steps (mining, refining, blueprint work, etc.)? Yes. Is it an effective way to do things? Hell no. Is it more fun for you? I don't know, but if it is, then in addition to whatever ISK you're gaining you're also gaining "fun"as part of your profit.
If your goal is making ISK via industry as your primary source of income, you need to revisit your process and optimize it. The market isn't being mean, it's not showing you the worst side of itself, it's simply giving you feedback on the fact that what you're doing could use a lot of improvement. |

i considered moving production to a POS but came to conclusion 25% faster production is too low to compensate for all the downsides. more time waste due to incinvenient job completion times, more problems with selling (more produce = lower prices), griefers/competitors exposure (can't use corpless alts for all manufacturing, visible product) etc. |

I just want to know where he is getting 74 a unit for them. I'd like to drop about 30 million of them on that market. |

Your summary only holds true in hisec in certain circumstances. It's irrelevant everywhere else, either due to the going market rate for the products, the unavailability of the products, or that fact that someone might need them *right now* and cost is not really a factor.
Industry is not there for the sole purpose of people sitting in hisec and flooding the market with stuff. It's a whole different world when you're selling smartbombs in lowsec gatecamp systems or building (much needed) scan probes out in the middle of nowhere.
This holds true whether or not you have the greatest industry skills in the game or are a noob. |
