Mind if I brag about my little EVE fansite?
I hooked up my website to the Eve API so now it contains detailed sovereignty information on ALL systems in eve.
It displays this info both in graphical maps of the regions and sortable (constellation, systemname, realsec, sovereignty) lists of these regions.
You can also browse through ALL agents of any given NPC corp and locate them on the map.
And ofcourse you can browse through all ingame items and entities (npc's).
More is coming, am thinking about some sort of fittings+skills db and using it to calculate bonuses on fleet setups or something. That would require quite some work though... Or how about a strategic planning board for large battles in your IGB? So much to do, so little time!
Have fun clicking about. There are no adverts on there I host it for the fun of it.

Okay. Thanks for the comments, I'll throw in search functionality in every page where possible then.

Weird, haven't noticed that one before... Maybe I should stick to marketgroups instead of using item categories. I'll look into it tomorrow. Thanks for spotting!

Originally by: CCP Greyscale This is ozom. If this had a whole-universe view, and colour-coding for who owns each system and what sov level it has (in 0.0), it'd be mozo
Originally by: Garat Mant This is awesome, good job.
Now, I like to create animated maps of the sov changes by putting the daily influence maps created by Verite into wmvs and avis. Do you think there's a way to use your maps to do something similar?
Originally by: CTec Nice uncluttered website. Add the Sov overview map so we can get the big picture! That would be a feather in an already nice setup.
Am working on just that, with a history function to look back up to 52 weeks. I think keeping a record of daily influence changes would be overdoing it (and cause really big db tables lol) but it IS possible ofcourse.

Since you've already done some heavy lifting code-wise
Lifting? No my friend. Nothing in there has been lifted from anywhere.
I started by downloading the database dump from the mighty chruker and started hacking away with a graphical query builder. The rest is history.
I even had to code a Cohen-Sutherland line clipping function on the fly to make the maps draw faster. Darn. Times is hard.

Only thing I've to critisize as a media-designer: It looks a little bit dusty
I'm strongheaded (read: stubborn) enough to believe that if a site sticks out people will remember the URL whatever it is.
And yes, very true - I'm not very talented in anything graphics related. Never was. But I play the harmonica just fine!

ALLIANCE RANKING LIST UPDATED
It is now the only fair ranking list around imho.
The top alliance rating system now no longer just looks at numbers of systems where the alliance has sovereignty.
The equation is now a much more fair one and uses a calculated score to rate the alliances.
This equation is:
SCORE = 100 * (systems with sovereignty * average sovereignty level / average system population density)
The density is calculated by dividing the number of alliance members by the number of systems with sovereignty.
This means that for instance Goonswarm drops down a bunch of positions in the chart because of their insane number of members. For them keeping sov in a large number of systems is easier then for a smaller alliance thus simply rating by amounts of systems would not be fair.

Site now automatically updates sovereignty and alliance data tables whenever it is visited and the current data is older then 1 hour.
PWNED.
