I already made a post about this several weeks ago, but Icant find it now so I had to make a new one.
1)Since the character file is now saved as xml.aspx, it is impossible to import it into QuickFit. Is there any way to convert the file to xml QuickFit can see? If there's no way to do that, how come so many people still use QuickFit and how do they manage to fit their ship without character data?
2)Is there any plans for continued development of QuickFit by another person since the original author abandoned it?
3)What's the latest version of QuickFit and where can I safely get it without getting a trojan/virus. I heard something about a trojan in the last version.
Are there any other good fitting tools except for Quickfit and Eve Fitting Tool? I don't like EFT because it lacks many features that QuickFit has.

You can still use it, if you want to have all the wrong numbers and be laughed at.
Use EFT --

I don't think QuickFit is updated any more, and therefore has entirely the wrong numbers for everything anyway.

It doesnt have to be though...Remember, unlike EFT you can trivially create custom modules + ships with quickfit.
I also miss the real time capacitor simulation--far more effective at simulating actual cap use. Or the fact that the tracking simulator would tell you your exact DPS breakdown in any given situation and even tell you your optimal range for max damage in that situation. EFT is a horrendously dumbed down version of Quickfitm sadly :-\

QuickFit? More liek WinFit, amiright? It was a very powerful tool, a little work on the interface and it would have been godly. EFT does the job, but... my heart will always long for those days of detailed real DPS calculations.

Sadly, I have the programing capacities of a large rock. On a good day, maybe a rock with some lichen.

I still have a long way to go on mine, but the first order of business were capacitor simulations and damage vs a specific target under specific circumstances.
If I ever get it respectable (e.g., close to the "truth"), I'll probably open source it. I'm a pretty poor project manager, but an excellent developer.
