i recently aquired a Navy isuse raven and i want to ask you, the knowlable mass of people in the eve universe before i go off spending all my ISK to fit it with stuff that will in turn be useless for my raven.. so what would be a good fitting for this raven? i want to mostly use it for Level 4 missions for the Caldari Navy. and i know the setup will very ffor each mission I.E the hardeners for the specific enemies i will encounter but the majority of the setup should be the same. so any suggestions i will be greatful for the info

Try this
7x best cruise launchers you can afford
1x Large shield booster II 1x Shield boost amp 4x T2 Shield Hardeners (2 of each type of npc damage)
2x Ballistic control II 3x Power diagnostic system II or best named
3x cap control circuit rigs
I run a similar setup on my normal raven (only 6 cruise) and it tanks every current level mission even WC without a problem and the Tank is total perma run it would run all day so you dont need to worry about cap. The Navy Issue has higher base stats so you will have no worrys.
People will post setups with faction stuff but its over expensive and unnecessary unless its faction launchers and ammo or BCS to increase your DPS to get through the missions faster, faction tanking mods just cost a lot and wont improve your performance. Cloaks!! |

Mate uses torps and a mix of target painter drones/scout drones. Works bery, bery well. Cruise takes weeks to kill the larger battleships and rat defender missiles kill cruise missiles.

'perfect' setups are expencive. they usually involve faction launchers + BCU's and gistii booster (XL size). And large T2 is not enough for level 4 missions.
As for affordable CNR setup, I would go something on lines 7x cruise (best u can afford) 1x auto targeter I XL booster, 3x hardeners, pwnage painter (or boost amp), heavy cap injector 4x bcu 1x signal amp II (or damage control) 2x semiconductor cap cells 1x CCC + 5x medium and 5x light t2 drones
use T2/faction where ever your skills/wallet allow.

some setups here are funky :P
but hers mine
7x caldary navy cruise, heavy nos
xl booster (facion prefered) boostamp (allso faction perfered) 4x t2 or faction hardeners
3x caldary navy bcu 1x dcu t2 1x t2 pdu
2x cap ammount rigs 1x cap regen rig
dont forget drones :)
i used to run a faction large booster and the same setup on a raven (expet one less launcher.. had a smartbomb there.. unlike most newbs in eve i dont do missions in hi sec :D not enough isk there)
i tanked everything except angel bonus stage

Edited by: Cersin on 22/11/2007 12:50:35 my lvl4 CNR setup was like this tilli got blown up by pirates :)
7x CN Cruise CN XL shieldbooster, 3x Invul field t2, t2 shield boost amp, cap recharger t2 4x CN BCU, 1x t2 PDS 3x Cap recharge rigs
works well in all lvl4 missions, can switch all the CN gear for t2 too, needs a named t1 shield boost amp then i think cuz of CPU issues.
PS: thats for the lazy ones around, couldnt be bothered to switch hardeners for different enemies...

Edited by: Alitha Maru on 22/11/2007 13:21:27 Well, if you can afford the CNR you can afford the gear as well.
This setup is valid for all Gallente/Minmatar lvl4 missions, at least, but should work for Caldari ones too:
High: 7x Cruise II 1x Whatever you like
Medium: 1x Gist B-Type X-Large Shield Booster II 1x Shield Boost Amplifier II 2x Heat Dissipation Field II 1x Ballistic Deflection Field II 1x Invulnerability Field II
Low: 3x Ballistic Control System II 2x Capacitor Power Relay II
Rigs: 3x CCC
Drones: Hammerhead & Hobgobs
Except for the Gist booster this setup is relatively cheap, but as I said if you can afford the CNR you can afford the booster as well And, for me, it all runs forever.

Here's my CNR setup. Might not be "Perfect" but it works for me . Use it for 99% Angel missions (mission in Minni space, use Abaddon for Sansha / Merc missions)
7 x Caldari Navy Cruise 1 x Heavy Dim Nos
2 x LSE II 1 x Gistii X-type Expl Hardener 1 x Dread Guristas Invuln Field 1 x Domination XL Shield Booster 1 x Dread Guristas Shield Boost Amplifier
2 x Dread Guristas BCU 2 x Dark Blood PDU 1 x Suitcase II
3 x CCC rig
CPU is really tight. Think with that setup I have about 2 or 3 cpu left. Should probably improve as I get better skills.

Wow! I didn't know CCP had released Tech 2 deadspace gear!
I know, I know, a minor typo, but still funny.
Also, last time I checked, a Gist shield booster of any kind is stupifyingly expensive, a couple billion even for an A-type. Did you mean Pith? Those give a better shield boost, but lack the cap efficiency of Gist, and so are a fair bit cheaper.
Anyways, other than switching drones and hardeners depending on rat faction (for example, kin/explo hards and explo drones for Angels), that's pretty much what I would use.
Funny thing I noticed too, the Caldari Navy gives out pretty desirable LP store gear. This gear is desirable enough that people purchase LP store-bought Caldari Navy Ravens, and fit them with 7 Caldari Navy cruise launchers, a Caldari Navy XL shield booster, a Caldari Navy shield boost amp, Caldari Navy shield hardeners, with Caldari Navy ballistic control systems and use Caldari Navy missiles.
Somehow, I think the Caldari Navy gear craze is a bit self-feeding.

Yeah, a typo. Sat in office, and had to hurry up And yes, I meant Gist. It's only 1.5 bill, not that expensive considering the ship you are buying
