Edited by: C Black on 24/11/2007 15:45:51 So i kill macro miner in the ice belts. I get the hit instant for killing them. So i run a lvl 4 mission to bring status back up. I take my time and kill every thing small and then every 16 to 20 mintues i pop a BS. But i still dont get my sec standing back. WTF CCP, Am i doing it wrong since you wont banned the CCOckS and hope people like me will do it... Chill a bit man--- You have to grind your sec back up. It takes a while.
Come on a few ops with MacroIntel if you want more rats to shoot and some legal farmer kills.

I get the impression you never pirated.
Sec status is one hell of alot harder to get up than it is to throw down. It will take more than a simple level 4 to repair the sec from a podding. ______________________________

also only the battleships you kill "1 every 16-20 mins" are the ones that actually raise your sec status

Not always true-- The Guristas elite rats in 0.0 surely don't take 16 minutes, and some systems have them in every belt

Calm down.
From CCP point of view no one is a macro miner unless the GMs feel he's a macro miner and to prove it to them is nearly as hard as to collect the evidence about some sophisticated bank fraud scheme. Those forums are full of posts from ppl who say they see same: sdfsfghs001, sdfjsdhfsdh002, sdhfshdj003 characters mining non-stop every day, not responding to any convos (no English probably) and after all petitions same characters are still there, mining. So, in fact you've committed an act of piracy and have taken a sec. hit. To raise your sec, either go to 0.0 and kill battleships, or do lvl 4 missions (and it takes a lot of time to compensate for just 1 sec. hit, especially if your sec rating was high).

Never pod kill farmers.
That by itself will let you kill their ships several times as often, and that will hurt them a lot more than the pod killing would have.
Play nice while you butcher each other.

Some npc's in missions dont give sec increases. It's only ships from pirate factions that do, ie Angels, Guristas, Serpentis etc. Not Mercenary, EOM and the likes.

It is not that it takes 16-20 minutes to kill a BS. It is the fact that you will only get one security status increase every 16-20 minutes, and it will be the same if you kill 1 or 20 BS's in that time.
To the OP, have you checked your the Security Status tab of your Character Sheet? It will list all of the changes to your Security Status. If you are constantly running level 4 missions, and are not seeing any increases, then there is a problem. If the security increases are appearing, then the problem is most likely that you're too impatient.

Edited by: C Black on 24/11/2007 21:40:04 Ok...So i had some fine scotch and was getting a little upset.
For the record i was running lvl 4 pretty often and did for almost 3 days. And i got one sec increase from it. And i am not podding the MM yet. I was taking my time killing everything and then slowly killing the BS rats and they have been Angel and Serpentis. Do the guy have to be above a certain wanted level or not? I guess i am really not try to get the guys banned i just want to kill there profits enough that it really does cost them to play. And then they have to spend the time to make new character to avoid me. For the reason that CCP will never ban them for running macros. If they keep doing like the Contracts on "the eggs" they will stay safe and only one person will get banned. How hard is it to make a new character to move the money around?

It's much easier to lose sec status than to gain it. It takes time to gain it, but you can lose it very fast. To a certain degree it can act as an incentive to not do stuff that hurts your sec status, since recovering from it is difficult (although this incentive only applies to some players). ---

Notice that the gains are in something like 0.0X%, while the losses are in X.0% or 0.X% (it's been a while).
Also the best way to increase sec is 0.0 space. It's much quicker than missions, as CCP designed it this way by limiting the gain from missions, as stated above.

So four days of killing bs spaced out over 15 mintues apart and no gain. I got one yesterday of .2 and that is it. I had to kill 10 bs in less than 20 mintues to help out a friend. Do you think it is bugged a little or not. Before that i tried the same thing that i was doing and got the increase every 16 to 20 minutes for two hours. I was getting .17 to .23 increase and then just stopped. Can you explain this one.
C Black
also yea the incentive is there for me not to do it to much. i fly all over and need it to finish rd mission.

Get your sec stats down, move into lowsec... you wont have to ever worry about the farmers again. You'll be more ****ed off at the asshats that moved in 2 systems down

I'm a tool. Where's the official/story-arc explanation of the sec status system that only allows you increase every 15 minutes, but decreases w/every action? Perhaps it's related to reality where the only news published is bad news and who gives a frack about good news...
Actually, beyond programming issues, I can't fathom why you can't total-tally all sec changes real-time. If the current method is to keep people from regaining "nice guy" status quickly, make the pod-kill hit bigger. For the folks who don't care about sec status, the number associated with the kill won't make a difference. For the folks like CB here who are playing Robin Hood against the Evil Sheriff of Macro-mining, so long as they don't pod 'em, keep the sec status hit like it is.
To make my speech prof happy: 1. Tally all sec changes real-time, not piece-meal 2. Increase sec hit for pod kills 3. Leave other rat action hits the same
Or just for one grand day, have CONCORD catch the Blue Flu and let us clean up Jita...

Or perhaps it's not related to reality at all, the reality where some criminals end up paying their entire life for one single criminal act, in some places even with their life, permanent like.
"Suicide" gankers certainly don't need it any easier, insurance is enough of a broken mechanic already. So called macro hunters aren't the only ones affected, more likely they're only a small portions of the ones affected. So justifying sec status changes based on that group is false.

So it seems if you have been a bad boy you have to wait a couple of days before you can get a sec increase. I got one for killing a little belt rat. Dont get one for killing a 1 mil bounty bs. Again WTF gives.
