Eve TV is a great example of what sets this game apart from others on the internet. It makes you feel like Eve is more than just a game when you can watch Eve TV and see real players discussing in-game topics.
I've come to enjoy catching every episode of Eve TV and would hate to see it go.

I think it would be a huge misstake of CCP not to take over Eve tv, alot of ccp's customers see eve tv ass a public service and if ccp want some goodwill money cant buy they save eve tv!!!!!

So you started out with an idea, you got funding, you made the game. At fan fest you said that you had to listen to your customers. OK so there is a cost of running the show. You have had an idea, think how it could be funded to up your profile and then deliver the show.
You seem to have a good team of people, one of you must be able to come up with a plan and turn Eve TV into a revenue stream. I did pay ś20 to whatch and then it went free on the next show. Poo happens as they say.
Come on chaps, this is a good idea lets not let it die. Even though they never answered my emails to do things on the show that i wanted to see with me sending isk as a reward. Bring the show back.
Stay on the cutting edge and cut the annual corp outing to fund the project and keep eve tv.

CCP has no idea how special EVE-TV is, and how it made EVE-Online special compared to all the other MMO's out there.
Normally I dont have the time to blog about certain stuff (cept for big stuff like Trinity), but in this case I made time away from my very busy RL schedule to blog about my thoughts about this turn of events.
Odd Pod Out is my blog
I hope that CCP turn around this decision and give us more EVE-TV. I'll be a sad sad day if EVE just loses its special luster because of EVE-TV.

EvE-TV was one of the things that really set this game apart from other games for me... I looked forward to the new show EVERY week.
EvE is online (the actual game) - in print (EON) - and on "TV" (EvE-TV) - it provided so many inlets for immersion - something no other mmo offers.
Please take the show off the ice and find a way to fund it weekly again. If it needs a big "Donate" button - so be it!

I for one, found the show incredibly entertaining and informative, the show was actually taking on a style of itĘs own, that was both funny and to the point watching the weekly reviews on the ships was also an excellent spot on the show, the staff was brilliant!!.
CCP needs to really rethink this, the show presented a look and feel for the community and set another milestone, In the first to MMO in history to present such a thing as a weekly show regarding game and the community of eve and itĘs ever changing evolution.
I watched the show every week, and each week the program was getting better and better, I would actually alt-tab out from game while mining to watch the show.
EVE has a very large fan base and I believe that the program is good instrument for New players to learn about the inner workings of the Eve community far greater than the forums ever can, because it puts a real human face to the Game, you get to see and hear some of the infamous players in the game, putting a face to the name that haunts your Corp.
It would be a real shame for CCP that has been steadily moving in the right Direction and working as hard as you have, to start walking back wards over your on progress.
BRING EVE-TV BACK, BRING BACK THE WEEKLY SHOWS, WE WILL CLICK ALL THE BANNERS YOU LIKE BUT PLEASE BRING OUR EVE TV BACK!!!!!!!!

/signed I really liked Eve-TV, I wish it wasn't gone. In the spirit of wishing it wasn't gone, we're going to do a show of our own. In HD, so you can read the writing on the screenshots.
http://Eve-cast.com we were planning on starting it when eve-tv came out, but they got there first... Being inherently lazy had sort of a downside.
Also anybody that wants to help in any way especially submitting stories video, anything that you'd like to see covered please send it to [email protected] (upload videos to vimeo and send links to us because that forwards to a yahoo address)

Edited by: Mr Friendly on 07/12/2007 08:32:56 Well, the petition linked in my sig is over a 1000 signatures now. I'd encourage all readers to take a look at the petition if you haven't already.
CCP, I think 1000+ signatures shows a good benchmark of concerned viewers given the amouint of concerned or interested viewers that *don't* sign/rate things always significantly outnumber those that *do* take the time to /sign something *if* they know it exists. In short: please re-review your decision to remove your funding ofr Eve-TV.
(to the above poster, thanks for the info... it sounds interesting.)
Save EveTV, please. Sign to ask CCP to fund EveTV! |

I don't believe people here are just unwilling to pay for eve-tv - it is just this bogus credit - pay per view - system that I couldn't be arsed with.
An optional monthly subscription fee, viewing it whenever in the mood, and count me in anytime.

actually you're wrong, the gameplay sets eve apart--the rest is superfluous, card games, art books, etc are only for the most rabid fans. I've said this time and again, why in the world would anyone pay for such limp "content" when you could actually be playing the damn game? Similarly hearing someone talk about alliance politics is one thing, the reality of participating and enjoying the belated lag and ganks is untranslateable.
The quality of the show was pretty bad as well, you know you have a problem when Suas improvised demeanor is more composed and your shows credit reel are highlights that something is substantively, and unironically, wrong. On that note weren't there a handful of young people designed to pimp the thing--in the end it was down to who? Stevie and regular spiral? Perhaps spiral plays regularly but do the rest? I doubt it. That in itself is telling--kudos go to Loxy and Xyliana's resume and whoever else can turn this into an enterprising opportunity or legitimate professional fodder. Keep them laughing til the end.
Indeed, the collective stupidity on display here is exactly why it was canceled--80% of you can't even string words into sentences much less say something beyond "/signed," effectively spamming a thread you're trying to support. brilliant gentlemen--your emphasis on quantity over quality is perfectly* in line with CCPs thinking. this was a failed commercial experiment, get over it.

I would like to see it fiddled with and returned to our browser. I honestly couldn't care about the fittings of a Wyvern (or a. n. other cap ship), being of the fluffy variety some of the earlier shows having marketing/stock tips appealed to me as did the news from around the universe... I'm in empire, it was good to know what the alliances were up to in general fuzzy terms.
I hate to say it but yes, in terms of marketing potential it's a fair draw for new players; I don't think other MMO's have anything like EVE-TV so it makes the game stand out. I have zero idea how it would work but I suppose if CCP were to start funding it wholesale then in show adverts from corps/alliances? Dunno, on that one.

And I completely agree that EVE TV helps advertising EVE more than it seems - I was watching EVE TV one day, when a friend walked by and asked what I was watching... when I had explained it he was already pretty interested, and signed up for a trial right away. He is now a regular EVE player.
Bring back EVE TV! Please!

I was down the pub with some friends being teased about going to Iceland for fanfest, and I joked for them to tune in to eve-tv and see what its all about and try to spot me.
As it happened I was lucky enough to be interviewed and a few of my friends saw it, and told others. Some of them then went back to watch older episodes, and thought it looked fun, as a result EvE got 6 new subscriptions over a 2 week period, people who are now playing the game and enjoying it. Some of which left other MMO's to budget for Eve.
It wouldn't have happened without Eve-Tv and i'm thankful for it helping me get some mates away from world of borecraft and to a true persistant world MMO...
Now I have more people to share my passion with.
People underestimate how good a tool Eve-TV was for advertising. http://www.myspace.com/cakeisalie
