Edited by: Chi Quan on 27/11/2007 19:30:36 here what happened: i downloaded the thing about 1.5 hours ago, and upon completition the whole client froze, i had to kill the process in the task manager. when i tried a restart it wont display the startup window, so i got rid of the whole folder and started with a fresh install of tq and the current tq-sis patch. before deleten everything i noticed a large file in the cache folder (about 800 mb) which seemed to be the new content and i copy it to some other place. so i fire up a fresh install of singulatity and copy the temp file back and want to apply the new stuff, as it says "new content has been downloaded, do u want to use it?" (or something like that). i click on apply and it says "the package seems to be corrupt try redownloading it" (or something like this). i click on apply a few more time in the hopes it would start downloading the package again, but it keeps saying the same stuff. i close eve and delete the big temp file from the cache folder and retry. same result. i delete the entire sisi folder, empty the recycle bin and reinstall the sisi client. yet it still says "corrupt package". this is strange, as i deleted the entire old install.
i always started sisi with the "\lua:off yada yada" and have no clue what may have happened. can someone give me a hint where to go to?

Please file a bugreport about this situation, and we'll get it looked into.

Edited by: Hida Kage on 28/11/2007 05:11:26 I've run into a similar problem (and have submitted a bug report ). Although I'm curious where EVE is keeping the files that let it know that its downloaded the content. I presume in a similar location that keeps track of past account names for use in the drop down menu on start up.
I made a similar attempt to clean up the install by uninstalling then deleting the tranquility client, and also my test singularity client. And also the files EVE puts under My documents (at least on my XP setup). When I downloaded a fresh copy of the client and re-installed it, I noticed it still remembered my account login name. So there's clearly some information I failed to clean up related to EVE. Ideally, if I knew where *all* EVE information is located, by removing all of it and using a fresh install should in principle force it re-download the content.
Anybody have any ideas where these extra hidden files might be?

On two computers now I've had the new models download and then the installer crashes half way through installing - leaving a corrupt sisi client.
I've filed a but report but does anyone know where the new models installer is hidden so I can try running it again and get more details?

Is there a workaround for us to actually "try again"? What is the manual re-download procedure?

I had the same symptom. For me, turning off HDR solved it.

Edited by: Hida Kage on 28/11/2007 16:52:45 So actually got a response to the bug report that suggested I download a BITS manager. As soon as installed it, I received a small message indicating the EVE download had completed. Starting up the SiSi client then gave me an option to begin downloading the content again. (Still downloading). So I've said as much in the bug report. I'm throwing this out there for people who may not have filed one, or who didn't check back on their bug report.
Note that the link leads to a third party home grown manager in a blog. I happen to trust the guys at CCP to send me to something thats safe, but you may not want to take my word for it. Usual internet sensibilities apply.

Yeah, chicken and the egg... Can't open settings if you can't get into the client.
I edited the cache/prefs.ini file. Changed the "bloom" entry to:
bloom=0
My client was able to open after that, and I went into graphical settings, and turned off HDR (checkbox).
