Since my MB doesnt support PCI Express to take the new gfxs and if i change MB i have to change CPU too, is there a cheap AGP 4x card that supports the new Shader3 model so all of us that have old computers can enjoy all these new graphics?

ATI X1900.
The GF uses it and it ran Trinity very nicely with High settings, HDR on etc.

EEEEEEWWWWWW the 2600's performance is crap compared to the 1950 pro so if you have a chance to grab a 1950 do it, it's the best AGP card you'll be able to get unless the card companies decide to keep supporting AGP in thier new cards, which I doubt.
I know this because I just went through the same thing. I did a lot of research and the 1950 clearly came out on top.

7900GT. Great price/performance and beats the low end DX10 cards.

hmm yeah I read the X1950 is the best AGP card you can get.
I replaced my Radeon 9800LE 128MB with a Radeon X1950XT-X (GeCube) 256MB AGP and theres virtually no difference in the FPS lol, go figure (Tried it on SISI too which was a bit better, but GUI still kills the FPS if its busy doing something).
I do only have a single core cpu though, but eve doesnt use dual cores yet? = Times of Ancar =

^^ Hehe good point, probably an old mobo, even my AMD XP2400 rig does 8x AGP, o point getting an uber card if you have a Pentium1 and 64mb or RAM.

Asus Geforce 8800GT "Top" 512mb
VERSEUS
Radeon HD3870 512mb
Which one to get? they cost about the same, the ATI card preforms less. but thats hardly noticable. However its got better coolant and less power consumption/Noise. Besides, the 8800 GT is out of stock everywhere anyway *signature removed - please email us to find out why (include a link) - Jacques([email protected]) EVE is like the "Fisherman's Friend" of MMOs. Edited by: achoura on 28/11/2007 14:47:02 If you're still on agp you need a new mobo, period. Yes you can buy an agp, then when you do need to get a new card for the dx10 in 4/5 months you need another new card and mobo and cpu really it's false economy. You want an agp to save money but really you're only spending more.
Particularly if your agp is only 4 times
However if you really are set in your ways
Best ATI agp 4x
Best Nvidia agp 4x
EDIT: there are better, but you did say cheap

Edited by: MalVortex on 28/11/2007 14:52:54 If his AGP Bus really is only 4x He needs a completely new computer anyways. Even if you *CAN* find a GPU designed to run on 4x... Nothing that bandwidth starved will run anything requiring SM3.0
Even if the card switches to 4x mode (and GL with that, it may just as well tell you to go DIAF), your completely killing it with the bandwidth restriction. Nothing on a 4X AGP limited system will play a SM3.0 Game. Period, the end. If you can run EVE now, you'll be able to play it after the patch with the current graphics. If you want the new shinies, you'll need at least a new mobo, GPU, and CPU.

7950 is the card to go for if you getting a agp card. Best one you can get. I went for one but they werent in stock so i made the mistake of getting the x1950 pro ATI card. Thing is really bad to be honest. I have nothing but trouble running games that i could play easy on my old 6600gt, games like oblivion suxxor now, jerky as hell :(.
Saving up to go get a new 7950 myself so i can do some proper gaming again.

Now i have a 7900GS and i'd switching for a 8800GT... off course its a hole new rig now but quite good.

I recently got a 512MB PNY 7600GS AGP card at Circuit City for $110. I'm happy with it.

Thx for replies, yea i know that my rest comp might nerf the new GFX but i was just asking if there was a cheap shader3 card so i can use it for trinity, cause right now im not willing to spend money on new computer just for trinity, so a new cheap card might do the trick. No need to tell me, i know my computer is old but im happy with it, since trinity came out at least... and yes MB supports only 4x, not 8x agp, im not lying

the best available AGP is probably Nvidia Geforce 7900GS...got great reviews, and it's quite cheap. i didnt wanna upgrade my motherboard, so i got it.

I'm running the BFG GeForce 6600 oc - I have no problems with the new content on sisi as long as i leave shadows on normal. Tuning the card with rivatuner i get an avg of 40fps in space.
If i run in classic mode that avg jumps another 10-20 fps

I dunno what your definition of cheap or old might be, but I'm seeing very good performance on a P4 AGP system with an evga 7800GS gfx card. At the time it was crazy-expensive and absolutely top of the line, but that was nearly 2 yrs ago. It's the last upgrade on this system before I just build a new PC.
