I've noticed that alot of people are wondering what trinity is going to look like without all the funny photoshops, post processing/rendering etc. Also, this should anwser the question; "omg, should i upgrade my videocard or pc?".
So i decided to make a small video to demonstrate various ships, with everything fully turned up. (HDR, Shadows, AA, AF, etcetc) <- proof included
Ships used: Raven, Falcon, Rook, Drake. Places; Inside station, Outside station, In Space.
Video:
Resolution: 1440x900 Size: 159 Megs Lenght: 3:08 mins.
Link
It's been put together maybe a tad to quick, but since its coming out next week i figured i would have to rush it.
Enjoy, Shoot
edit; will encode with dark shikari's encoder as soon as possible

Nice,
But I am seeing aliasing in your vid. I jumped on sisi and used the same settings and got the same result. hdr kinda kills the anti-aliasing.

For the interest of the movie makers post-Trinity if they don't immediately fix the AA/HDR issue, I have found a decent way to reduce aliasing; I'm not sure how well it works in EVE, but it worked with a Portal clip I had a bit back. Avisynth is your friend here.
1. Resize with a high-quality resizer (Blackman, Lanczos, Spline, or ideally, NNEDIresize) to 2x, or ideally (but slower), 4x the normal resolution. 2. Resize back down with a resizer known for a bit of blurring (Bicubic, Bilinear).
This seems to take care of aliasing pretty effectively without blurring text.

This will mean however, that the video is not actually going to reflect what it is in real, which is what this vid is all about.

a dev has reply'd somewhere that the "extreme" settings are not recommended because they use 4092x4092 (or something) shadow rendering... Or something rediculously high. I know that i will not play with everything on extreme during fleet fights.

Of course, I was referring to as postprocessing for general-use video making after Trinity.

AA + HDR just wont work together, and no real way to make it work due to technologies involved (that is, for my best knowledge, correct if im totally off here).

This is true of certain implementations of HDR, not HDR in general.
To prove yourself wrong, go open any Source engine game with HDR and turn on AA--they work fine together I believe.

When HL: Lost Coast came out, i did infact try that, results being: While HDR was active, AA was set off in the area where HDR effect was, otherwise normal AA :) so still essentially AA+hdr was not working. I was using Nvidia and Source is (or was) Ati tuned afaik, so might be just that. If able to provide SS whit aa+hdr, pls do so, and tell your system specs :)

I'm pretty sure HL2:EP2 worked fine with HDR+AA.

IF your hardware supports it. 8xxx series supports it from nvidia, and x1000 series and up support it from ATI. I can confirm it works on the 8xxx series btw, with a little driver setting modifying.
Anyway, there are many other threads discussing this in game development forum, the most recent one is this one.
Ontopic: Thanks for the vid, Trinity looks absolutely stunning, as always _______
