IF there was profit to be made, there'd be a grocery store there. Honestly, I prefer to buy produce at Farmer's Markets over the grocery store anyway. I'd rather the independant growers got the profit, not the supermarket chains.
I, and my family, do eat "fast food" on occasion. We would prefer making dinners at home. However, the point I was trying to drive (with the hammer from Random's Hammer Emporium) is that the government does NOT need to interfere. When the government interferes, there is a cost. Nothing comes for free.
They have played around in farm subsidies for years and thats managed to turn "Mom and Pop" operations into huge corporate farms. My aunt and uncle who are farmers have watched their neighbors lands get bought out by corporate farms. They are the ones who know how to "milk" the system (no pun intended) and they know the loopholes on how to get fabulously wealthy on the government subsidies.
Sorry, I'm rambling. TL:DR.....keep the damned government out.
Oh yes. The whole subsidy thing is a complete disaster.
What's bringing things to this level, really, was Reagan cutting those taxes on the richest of the richest Americans. Back in the 70's there was a lot less racism, things were much more balanced across society, and things were working well for most people. Even "The Jefferson's" were moving on up, remember.
We are living in the supposed era of money showering down on the poor because of "the trickle-down economics". Yeah, right. The Gipper and his cronies dug this hole for us, and there really is no way out without massive societal reconstruction and a period of chaotic reorganization of just about everything, that nobody really wants to go through.
I think the situation is going to be even uglier this coming year, especially since it's a Mid-Term congressional election year.

Exactly. The only reason I have healthcare being HIV + (now, that's one heck of a pre-existing condition) is because Medicare is obligated to provide it due to my being on SS Disability as well. If I was actually out in the productive workplace or trying to provide for it myself, it's just not gonna happen for me.

The "pre-exisiting condition" thing is utter BS. You know what else is a pre-existing condition? Being a human being. Apparently not everyone is affected with this "condition", however. Especially if you make insurance laws.
Seriously. You're going to deny someone coverage because it would cost you too much to insure them? How could they possible not have the funds to cover people who need care when prescriptions, tests, and just standard diagnosis cost amounts that other fields would call extortion? Ever have an EKG? Tell me how taking two minutes to put six sticky pads on a body, snap six wires to a said sticky pads, and run a 5 second scan can cost someone $600-900. Or how "Open wide and say 'ahhh' " can cost $75-200 ?
The whole thing gets on my nerves.

Most of them look like extras in a Hollywood Horror movie. Definitely didn't grow old gracefully. Looks like they've had a very rough life.

Hopefully you understand my points though. The sad thing is, Obamacare does zero to actually fix health care costs like hospital overcharges. Not only has it caused millions to lose the coverage they had, of the mere tens of thousands who've managed to sign up for coverage through HealthCare.gov more than a third of them will discover that the government hasn't yet bothered to notify the insurance companies of the sign-up. The insurance companies don't even know they have customers, so they can't submit bills for premiums. The law is written to say that you don't have coverage until you pay your first premium.
From the drafting, to the legislative process, to the execution, the ACA has been shameful. Don't talk to me about intent, it's never been about what the government intends, it's about what it does. If House played Eve: http://i.imgur.com/y7ShT.jpg |

I think its more or less for the challenge.
Also is there even such thing as solo pvp anymore? Seems like everyone at least has a fleet booster and a possible falcon backup.
