Especially with my "I survived WWII in and around Berlin" mother.
That pantry was always absolutely packed.....stuffed to capacity with canned goods and packaged stuff. Always. It never depleted in the slightest.
I understand why. But when my older sister and I would be pining for a snack or something there was "never anything to eat !".
