I don't personally sing, mostly because my singing voice is about as harmonious as a slaverhound's bark. Although singing is always a part of the ritual of mass.
Tobias seems to be adapting well. He has recently moved from his time of solitude and should be going though placement about now. So we shall see where he ends up to best serve me and thus the Empire. |

Ironically, as founder and CEO of the Disciples of Ston, I am not myself a Disciple. I cannot or rather am not willing to espouse the total lack of violence and also am not quite attuned to shunning the accumulation of wealth. That said, I "feel" more like a Disciple these days than since our organization began. I think it is the slave rescue project that has me motivated. Have you ever noticed that work that is usually interesting can become dull when the vision of a significant contribution presents itself? So it is with me now. I have been engaged in a business project related to the expansion of mining and refining activities. Now, the work seems a bit slow and tedious. I am finishing my current work with Joint Harvesting but it is taking a long time.
I am anxious to begin work establishing a planetside facility for those former slaves that are willing and desire to establish transitional communities. These communities will be shaped by the members, not by those from the outside. We await a couple things. First, for the Governments of the Federation, Republic, and State to get off their collective posteriors and provide legal means to change the status of rescued, escaped, an otherwise freed slaves. As it is, this is the main limitation and danger in our work. It is ironic and something the "free governments" of this Cluster should be ashamed of. These rescued slaves will have their first real taste of liberty within Amarrian space, because the Gallente, Caldari, and Minmatar refuse to legally and permanently acknowledge that they are anything but slaves.
For this reason we are also encouraging those who sojourn through these pages to also support an initiative ((here)) In essence, we need to squeek the proverbial wheel with the powers that be if we want to see change happen.

I need to develop a cooler head. On my first successful slave rescue operation tonight, the adrenaline really shook me. All I could think about was getting those slaves back to the center. I was worried about those left behind and if they would be there on the return trip. I was attacked by a pilot who was still in system when I took the slaves from his can. I was unnerved when I scanned a can and found not only slaves but also slavers and slaver hounds. I was not prepared for that. As a result of this, I was only able to get the name of one of the pilots involved in the Jettisoning of the slaves. We want to put the names of the pilots here as a record of their deeds. The one pilot carried the alias "Sir Podsalot." He was also the pilot who fired on me.
I am thankful for 39 precious people rescued tonight from death. We have asked the One who has created us all for guidance and are thankful for it. I also appreciate Ston's advice to return to where we have had success. That was good advice. Ston and Edaine are aware of the situation with the capture of the slavers along with the rescue of the slaves. We will be seeking information about what to do with the slave traders we captured. |

MORAL DILEMMA
Tonight, Manwe rescued 39 former slaves from death in the cold of space. In the process, he also detained 5 slavers (slave traders). While patrolling Jita for the Clone Body Return service, I asked for advice on the Summit. Mr. Thassalonia recommended that the slave traders should be brought to the MIO for trial and appropriate justice or to the Matrai security officials for the same. We appreciate Mr.Thessalonia's advice. We never expected this to happen so we never prepared for it. We would appreciate more advice and information.
Here is our concern. The Disciples of Ston are against capital punishment and cannot hand anyone over if that is even on the table. Our problem is, we don't know what the punishments are in either Amarr Justice or Minmatar Justice. Sometimes, the Amarr punishments include multi-generational slavery. We are opposed to this. We have heard that the Minmatar may execute them. We are opposed to this as well. What to do?
We will speak to the former slaves that were rescued and who were the ones really responsible for the capture of the slave traders. (See Manwe's account). Their input is important as well. Pilots who have insight on this are asked to please help us out with sound advice. This presses another issue for us as well; that is the need to include some rudimentary justice and law enforcement mechanisms in our matriculation communities even if they are temporary. We believe that there are those among the rescued capable of putting a plan together.

I have left Joint Harvesting a bit miffed at myself for having worked for them in the first place. Our team is wrapping up operations in Piekura. We will finished processing materials into one last run in our robotics plant. Then it is one to establish a planet side colony in service to those former slaves being rescued. We will hope to be around for as long as we are needed. We also hope to assist any who want to go on to other places. My role will be financial and to establish and set up planetary operations.
I apologize to Ston and Manwe for any embarrassment my brashness may have caused them. The work is a good work. |

I'm not certain that slavers would be under the jurisdiction of the Gallente Federation, but if you could get them arraigned in a Federal court, they would receive just yet merciful sentences. |

I am sitting here with a bottle of water, a nutritional ration, and 97 recently freed Minmatar sharing the same with each other and with me. Gladius has just given thanks and we are eating drinking together. Soon, other Matriculants will be welcoming these into this new community. Already, Gladius has asked to visit with the other Elders. I am jotting these notes on my data pad while they are fresh in my heart, but I just realized that these things must be felt and cannot merely be written with any accuracy.

THE RELATIVE VALUE OF "VALUABLE"
It is interesting how the capsuleer in general has been numbed by wealth so that "value" is not as easily felt. I see this in a very simple way in our work as Disciples of Ston. From the beginning, we decided to make little and do with little. When I am out in Jita, looking for bodies, now and then, I come across discarded ships. These are usually rookie ships of shuttles. The shuttle have become valuable to us because they are fast and they warp quickly. We use them as hearses. The saying, one man's trash is another man's treasure is quite applicable. Pilots throw away shuttles, we thankfully pick them up and use them.
I witnessed another clone suicide today. This also has to do with value. I hear more and more pilots talking about the disconnect between infomorph and body and infomorph and humanity all the time. When we willfully discard our bodies, we are making a value judgment. This value judgment is very different from the value judgments of "ordinary" humans. In that sense, there is most definitely separation going on.
I will be taking some time soon to collate data on the subject of self-determination and the capsuleer. Our early work dealt extensively with this and recent experiments have garnered interesting observations. I will need to put it together sometime while the experiences are fresh. I am a little concerned that my conclusions may generate rancor among some schools of thought. I will try to be tactful.

I am continually haunted by a persistent thought that will not go away. This thought? "How many men, women, and children die in the cold of space, because we cannot get to them before their containers disintegrate in the radiation and cold of space? What are they thinking about as death approaches. How are the Mothers and Fathers comforting their children as death creeps in? How are the Elders strengthening the group as they face death together." The Disciples of Ston are too few in number to rescue every group of slaves jettisoned into space, but that does not stop these haunting thoughts.
We challenge other pilots to take the time to check those containers at border jump gates. Rescue those those former slaves you find. We are willing to take them into one of our centers. Please! |

A thought for you guys.
Why not anchor some containers in space near border stargates? You could have them equip to survive the riggers of space as well as loaded with O2. Its true that these would not be very comfortable living conditions, but that way pilots who want to enter space were slaves are illegal they can drop them off in your container instead. In addition this solves the problem of your hold not being large enough since you can load any slaves you do find in the container for safe keeping.
All in all, a very simple solution to your problem which should save many lives.... Just make sure to name the containers and let it be well advertised what they are there for.

Ms. Goldcore,
I like this idea a lot. How do you set up a secure container so that pilots can add to it but not take from it? We will get Edaine on this right away if there is a way to do it. He is the only one of us that has skills to anchor containers right now. Step by step instructions are needed for us who don't know what we are doing. |

You should only require Anchoring I... a very simple skill to learn which should only take a few moments to do so. The containers are also fairly cheap and easy to get your hands on, produced in almost every station. So all in all you will require an industrial ship filled with containers and fly about dropping them off. should be a simple matter.
As far as security, I do not know if a way to make them input only. Putting a password on them would defeat the whole idea as well; since if people cant put anything in them, whats the point. Sadly I do not know if there is a way to make it so only those at the deciples of Ston could withdraw the slaves, although that doesn't change things at all right now since floating containers can be accessed by anyone anyway.
So the containers wont protect against people taking them (not different from now), but it will protect against death by asphyxiation, a horrid way to die.

Ms. Goldcore, I agree that this is an idea worth trying. I am on my way to our most active location to anchor a container without a password. We are calling it simply "slave shelter (place your slaves here)" and leaving it by the gate. We will see how this goes and report here. Thanks for the idea. All of us associated with the Disciples of Ston are somewhat inexperienced pilots and sometimes stuff just doesn't occur to us. Edaine |

100 KM is the minimum distance from major objects such as jump gates, that other objects such as secure containers, must be anchored. Well that explains why all those corp ads are at about 100KM from the gates. At that distance, anyone desiring to deposit their slave cargo in the container will really have to have a movement of conscience. We will give it a try and see what happens. I got to see the Center and meet some of the people there. That alone was worth the trip. If even one life is saved through this idea, we will be glad we tried it. |

MY MIND IS NOT YOUNG
I have been monitoring a Com channel called "The Summit" lately and trying to converse a little bit while monitoring. However, I am finding that my mind is not accustomed to the fast movement of verbal repartee that is common among participants. When I am watching the conversation, I feel like old grandpa sitting in the rocker whose thoughts are about a minute and a half behind the flow.
Some time ago, I was evaluated as capsuleer material, but perhaps my evaluators were incorrect, or maybe the testing equipment was malfunctioning. I am not sure that my mind is any more capable than the average, ordinary, mortal man's. Thinking wears me out much sooner than it used to.

NEWS ABOUT TOBIAS
Some time ago, one of the slaves we rescued requested to be attached to a benevolent Amarr Holder for service and religious enlightenment. His name is Tobias and the Holder's name is Thgil Goldcore. Tobias has entered the service of the Goldcore family and estate and is currently in the process of aptitude evaluation. The Disciples appreciate hearing about how he is doing and we anticipate that this kind of thing will happen from time to time in our rescue work.
In other news, We have found a safe route between our centers and are beginning to make plans to consolidate the centers in preparation for establishing a planetary colony . Elder Gladius is in contact with the Elders of the other colony to coordinate efforts, but they would like to have the advantage of proximity. We also believe that Center #1 is in a potentially more dangerous part of space . We would like to get these people into a safer situation as soon as we can. |

OUR NON-CAPSULEER FRIENDS
Most of us capsuleers have dealings with non-capsuleers. Many of you have them in your ship crews and on planetary colonies. I have heard some claim that they are completely separate from the non-capsuleer world, but I don't believe it. We have relationships with these "normal humans." Some of us have close friendships.
We have become used to the idea of our consciousness being preserved when the body dies. We wake up in our new clones just as if it were a long sleep, so to speak. But, what of our mortal friends? What happens to their consciousness at death? Is it merely gone? If not, what is its existence. Is consciousness no longer relevant at death.
I know that these questions have been pounded to death, but I just lost a close "mere human friend." I can't help but ask this "mere human question."
... Rescue efforts re slow right now.

SOME CONTINUED OBSTACLES
The clone body return work is occupying my time right now. Manwe and I switched places again and I am back in the Jita area. H had collected four bodies while doing rescue work and I brought those back to Korama. One of them was contracted to the owner today.
A frustrating obstacle that continues to defy any sense is the refusal of the Federation and Republic Governments to work with Concord so that rescued slaves can have their legal status changed. We cannot transport these people into any free space, because they are still branded as slaves. How poignantly ironic.
When will the powers that be see the injustice and hypocrisy in their current policies? |

Ston requested that I take care of this as CEO because it is an administrative issue. The Disciples of Ston have opened a "Detention Center" as an official division of the Corporation and invited Concord to instruct us regrding the criminal slave traders that are currently in detention there. We will hold them in our detention center in Korama until instructed to do otherwise by Concord. We are frustrated at the "inaccessibility" of Concord officials in this matter. We submit our detention center to accountability, and would like the occupants to have the due process that the law requires. In the mean time, let Concord be informed that we are holding these individuals and await Concord instructions. |

I share this in the true spirit of the Disciples of Ston. My hulk crew has been very happy the last couple of weeks. We are working in a 0.5 system in Gallente space. We have hardly had to use our defensive drones. It has been remarkably peaceful lately, with zero pirate attacks in the last 20 or so mining trips. This is remarkable. It has been good for the crew to work without the anxiety associated with attacks that usually come in this security level of space.
We hope the calmness continues. |

PALPABLE MELANCHOLY
I visited the Goldcore's Drinking establishment earlier today. Their hospitality was, as has been in the past, open and humble. The setting is not what you would find in typical Caldari or Gallentean Taverns. It is much more sedate. I appreciate Ms. Goldcore's invitation to visit her establishment and I hope to return again soon.
While there, I had a most unusual experience. There came over me a palpable melancholy that I have not experienced since a long, long time ago. The last time I remember feeling this was when my bride T'Pring and I were helping our daughter T'Brith agonize over a choice of life directions. These choices involved very different directions. We felt her struggle as a deep melancholy. I felt that same feeling today in the Tavern.
I cannot explain the presence of this feeling. Perhaps it was an aberration of some sort, but I don't think so. I would like to return again to see if it is a presence or an environmental trigger. There was a power in the feeling I felt.
T'Brith, T'Brith, O your struggle returns to my heart as if it were the day you bore it.
Tonight I do not feel peace, but unrest. |

PROGRAMS EXPANDED TO INCLUDE HOMELESS SHELTER
The Disciples of Ston are pleased to inaugurate our new homeless shelter by welcoming 5 guests this evening. This shelter will also be an extension of our matriculation philosophy. We will be seeking reintegration and already have offers from possible employers.
We would like to thank Mr. Horn and Mr. Vidar for their assistance, kindness, and care of these individuals prior to our receiving of them. We appreciate it and look forward to further connection if the opportunity presents itself.
We will begin with medical examinations, interviews, vocational and educational evaluations, etc. We are also interested in any family connections that may be re-initiated with our help.
It has been a busy night. Time for all to find some rest. Good night.

Capsuleer Momaki , ive recently collected 3 more people who were arrested by the State on vagrancy charges in the Ikami solar system. Ive transfered them to the Niyabainen Police dept. (chat channel Sheriffs Office) and am holding them in the cells here.
They had no paperwork on them to identify themselves and have so far refused to speak to anyone. There are signs of drug abuse and scarring on the body , which leads me to believe they could be escaped slaves.
They have been cleaned up , fed and now have somewhere to sleep.
As our agreement i am happy to release them into your custody , as long as the debt incurred on the state is paid for holding these people. Otherwise ill have to send them up to the State Penitentiary on the next prison bus.
You can contact me by mail or at the Sheriffs Office at your convenience.
Kind regards
