Spatial Disturbance Generators (size of small tower) Can be anchored in the middle of space but only in a grid adjacent to an anchored structure. The Spatial Disturbance Generators affect everyone, friendly or enemy, that enters their field of influence. Can put up to 27 in a system at once.
There are 4 types: all types create a dead space within that grid which drops you out of warp if you pass through it.+ one added effect. Amarr û Additional effect, drains the capacitor at 5 cap per second and reduces damage from energy weapons by 20% Gallente û Additional effect, reduces locking distance by 50% and disrupts drone interfacing (reduces drone interfacing by 50%) Minmatar û Additional effect, webifies everyone for 30% and increases sig radius for 30%. Caldari û Additional effect, Missle speed reduced by 20%, disruption of electronics (each ship is hit by the equivalent of 5 medium ECM drones every 3 mins and cloaks do not work.)

I'm having a hard time seeing the point of these structures.... Perhaps they might be better served as NPC tactical enviornments instead of player controlled. (and the coding on some of those would be....interesting... to do) _______________________________

Theres loads of points to using them.
You could stick them on the next grids surrounding some of your stations, so if people are looking to POS seige then they have to move through that first (if they come from that direction) and you can fight them in there.
Or if you control a system with only one gate (or you just pic a partikular gate) you can surround it with these things slowing people.
Set up traps to draw enemy fleets into it. Yes it effects your guys as well, but if your the ones putting it up then you can kit to be least effected. So if you put up an Amarr one you might kit your fleet of high cap recharge so your cap doesnt die half way through a fight, but the enemies does.
Also you can use them to hide bases or asteroid fields. You would have to go through them to get to the Base or asteroid field and scan it. Ok you couldnt scan the base of roid field, but you could scan the Spatial Disturbance Generators.
Ad far as the programming goes, well i dont actually think it would be that hard beyond the visuals of a deadspacy kinda thing. Because it just changes the stats within a grid. I think it would mostly just be stat changes. As people enter the grid, your ship recieves penalties. But it wouldnt work like a smart bomb where they have to calculate everything being hit within a certain range. -------------------------------

Recently I have been playing with a similar idea, but it was not a tower, instead it was a new kind of ammo for Interdictors. Instead of the plane old plain-Jane warp bubble in a spherical shape, it would allow a player to launch a "warp circle". Not a sphere, but a circle that is no more than 1 meters in depth, but the size of the circle could be based on the ammo or one of these new ARM scripts. The circles could be 20km, 60, 100, 200.
If a ship tried to pass through the filed, it would drop out of warp. Since the filed is rather thin, the stopped ship could simply warp off again, although it might get shot up of course before it had the chance. A few interdictors could build "walls" of a sort in space for shot periods of time to cover flanks and that sort of thing.
