From patch notes:
Quote:
The consumption rate of Strontium Clathrates has been doubled for control towers in reinforced mode, which leads to the maximum reinforced times being halved to up to 2.5 days with all sovereignty bonuses (around 1.5 days with no bonuses).
This will mean that a greater proportion of towers will have more stront in their bays to acheive the desired reinforced timers. I wonder if this is CCP's way of curbing POS warfare?

How will it curb it? It would only make it easier...

hummm but the bays remain the same with the same amount of stronz in them. basically the same amount used up per tower that is shot down. just that it leaves less time to organize a defense force.
and i doubt that is going to happen that much more often.
besides... i wouldn't be surprised if there was ten times more stronz used up in warp disruptor probe production - putting the gist back into logistics |

Shadarle: Why would it make POS wars easier? Shorter maybe, but why easier? It would give attackers the advantage, but the pains of blobbing+lag is still there. It's just less time between large battles.
Roemy: Say you want tower to hold 18 hour stront. Now, you have to put more stront in tower to achieve that result.I don't think everyone fills their towers to the brim because they want their tower to come out of reinforced at a time that would be advantages to them.
Then again, I am still trying to learn this stuff. Please correct me if I am wrong

honestly i dont really care and its not gonna change anything, only a few percent of the stront is used for pos reinforced

I was going to make another post stating that I had bought up 5 billion isk worth of stront, expecting to make a 20% profit over the next 2 weeks. Just to see if I could get other people to do it... but honestly, I don't think any reasonable person would buy it. If POS's were attacked constantly then this might have an impact... but it's not exactly something you are dealing with on a lot of towers every single day. Sure this will increase the demand... but by a very tiny amount. It may not even be noticeable.

Shorter = Easier. It's good for attackers, bad for defenders. Just like I'd say a nerf to resists would make ganking/pirating easier.

I know of three uses. Are there others?
1) Warp Disrupt Probes (maybe other kinds of probes, too?) 2) POS reinforced mode 3) Dreadnought siege/Carrier triage (probably the #1 use, yes?)

1a) Recon Probes
Actually, the cost to build recon probes and sell on the market went past 50% markup a while back.
Almost all recon probes being sold in hub systems at the moment are being produced rather than resold from NPCs, and I'd wager many or most of 0.0 too.
It's hard to say whether or not galactic-wide usage of recon probes would equal volumes pumped into dreads... I suspect not though. A 10-dread fleet does burn through a hell of a lot of stront in a weekend (not to mention the "grand fleets" of GBC/RSA).

If the structure is destroyed then do all contents go to a container?

I don't see how this really relates to what I said in the quote...

It's a problem because if you want your towers to come out say 16 hours after they were attacked, in highsec, your options are 16hours, or.... nothing, you can't do 1 day 16 hours.......
There are going to be alot of towers go down before some people realise they've even been put into reinforced.
