Hello again, it's your favorite (hopefully) low-capital trader newbie, seeking valuable insight on trading minerals.
I won't ask for specifics, but the moguls who grow their ISK by selling tritanium and the like, I've a question for you!
I get the impression that the mineral scene is one of those markets where large volumes must be sold at once. This does not speak to use of setting regional range on one's buy order, and leaves open the problem of moving product to a trade hub. Is a large hauler required to successfully sell minerals at a high margin?
Thank you for your advice.

Use your own common sense and intelligence to figure this one out. The answer to this can be very simple, or far more complex. As you figure out the more complex you'll make more profit.
Do it the way you think makes the most sense. Continue doing it until you figure out a better way.

Thanks for the prompt response, even though it lacks information. If it's a touchy subject I'll let it slide; I don't have the capital to invest in minerals, it was more a matter of curiosity.

You're asking to be told how others make billions of ISK. The best methods are never discussed. The methods I use have never once been mentioned on these forums by anyone, not for as long as I've read the forums. The only answers you'll get will be generic ones that are easily figured out.
The best way you figure this out is on your own, if you figure something out yourself you could find a way to make lots of money. If you ask here and are given an answer it will be one that is extremely over-used and not very profitable.

I understand that specifics lead to overuse, and lessens the effectiveness of the tactic...but if you feel that what I'm trying to learn hits too close to home, you're probably better off simply not posting. By being this way, it sends a signal that what I'm asking about is important enough to be a key factor in how the money's made, and that right there can be dangerous too. If someone's really looking to protect their livelihood, then they'd be far better off ignoring my post, rather than making those marginally helpful comments.
As for the people who would offer legitimate advice, I could receive it in the form of EVEmail if a forum disclosure would be very, very bad. I wasn't aware that my original question could reveal anything vitally important about selling or strategies...to me, it was simply a question of logistics and feasibility. Apologies if I've annoyed/offended people, as it wasn't my intention.
On the whole, I'm very impressed with the way this forum behaves itself. While there are moments of tension, the people here seem by and large the most mature and sensible, even if they're all in dark cloaks and speak in whispers
If what I was asking about is truly unreasonable, I'll ask moderation to lock or delete the thread.

Simple truth is yes. Minerals have low profit margins but very high liquidity and to take advantage of this you would have to have a big ship.

Do it the way you think makes the most sense. Continue doing it until you figure out a better way.
You need a better hobby then trolling this forum.

I tried sex, drugs, and rock & roll... but alas posting here is far more fun.
The best answer to a question of "what is the best way to trade" is to try out what you think is the best way. See how it goes. You'll likely think of a new way of trading while trying your method out. From there you can continue to improve/expand upon your ideas. Then you'll truly be trading in an original and profitable format.
You have to think about it logically. If something is profitable then why would someone tell you to do it, it will only hurt them. They would instead tell you the opposite. The best advice is to ignore any advice given on these forums about the best way to trade. Unfortunately this defeats the purpose of asking.
My non-advice is going to be far more honest than the advice most others will give. My posts may come off as rude or annoying, but they will be honest. You can choose if you want nice/cuddly and dishonest or rude/curt and honest.

Ok so your a str8 talking tough guy just like in the movies. His question was a simple economic logistic question and does not involve any complex trade secrets. Compared to RL platforms the EVE market is very crude and simple. I understand this is a zero sum game and nobody is asking you to give up your niche area. You can though answer simple rudimentary trading questions. Trust me with EVE's limited market your trading model is nothing new. Plus this is a game and you can buy 1 billion isk for 75 dollars. Does it really matter if your arbitrage angle or trading model is compromised? If your worried about losing "billions of isk" you should be applying your energy to real life trading.

This is possibly the most pointless and stupid post in the history of the interwebs.
If you only post to tell people crap like this, over and over and over again, how about just not posting? You contribute exactly zero to anything around here. You are a swirling vortex of noise, a giant pile of suck.

Edited by: Meili Qiuyue on 06/12/2007 23:03:22 Please keep it civil, Johnny. He was just helping protect interests, whether they are his or someone else's. And while I appreciate being stuck up for, I think you both have valid points...I wouldn't ask if I did not want to know, and by asking, I think I have only encouraged more secrecy. Quite a conundrum.
In either case, I'd rather not have this turn into a flame thread of any sort. The posts thus far have me thinking about logistics and plotting future skill trains, which is enough for me. If others would like to continue on the subject, I'd request that it revert to civil (if not polite) and productive (in one way or the next) discussion.
I am noticing a certain theme to Shadarle's posts the more I read, but at least he's consistent
