I'd pay to see the look on the dev's faces when they realize what they've done.
After spending a few minutes frantically searching for my backups, I'd like to know exactly how this monumental of a screw-up is possible at all. You owe me that much for my time, CCP.
Thanks~

i really can't be arsed to read all what's written here so far, just woke up 10 minutes ago and my brain is still offline.
just wanted to hop in and say that i'm impressed with ccp and their patch day. everything ran so smooth that i couldn't believe my eyes.
Well ok you guys could have extended the patch day with even 48 more hours, if we would have received moar pics of drunkz0r Oveur! <3 <3 Signature Your signature exceeds the 24000 byte limit allowed on the forums. -Darth Patches |

I said it in the other thread, but it is an absolute crying shame that an otherwise brilliant, beautiful, and fantastic patch is going to be so totally overshadowed by such a small but fatal mistake. I'm not angry at CCP for screwing up my computer--I'm angry at CCP for botching this otherwise wonderfully-run patch release so massively. This was a priceless opportunity for marketing completely and totally frittered away.
For the record, don't hang the guy who missed the \ when making the patch. Hang the idiot who created a file named boot.ini in the first place. ____________________ GM Sunshine > oops Neurotica > Hate to see a GM in your gang say 'oops'

We are so proud of you CCP.
You guys impressed me this patch. Worse than any patch before. Awesome.
Boot.ini Oh noes, mine went boom!
You guys are really good at nerfing. Maybe though you should try to fix the game, and not waste time nerfing things that dont need nerfed? Yep me thinks so... silly one dimensional ccp.
Congrats on the Useless graphics engine, the Jump clone bugs, and the overall laggy ass client you've so wonderfully built.
I want my fracking money back.

Yup, it's so funny that the people congratulating CCP haven't come back to the forums.... I suppose they tried to reboot their comps. Worst patch ever perhaps? CCP actualy killed computers?

Game has never run as smooth as it does now on my rig.
I did sterilize my machine from every trace of any earlier eve client before installing a complete download of the premium client though.
I d imagine a good sized bit of all problems people are having atm are due to just patching over previous versions.
Go CCP!

See thats kind of funny, because that is what a "patch" is.
If you download full new version, you didnt download a "patch" you downloaded a new client.

Lol that's because half of eve's players cant reboot their computers
My boot.ini survived.
Aside from that *tiny* problem, great patch, I'm seeing a definite fps boost.

Great job CCP - Trinity is awesome - well done!
I was a bit concerned about running two clients on my laptop (Asus G1 - GF Go 7700) but it runs better than the old client and looks excellent.

Yep well done - am running an Asus G1 with a Go 7700 in it under Vista, and the premium content runs well. Actually with higher FPS than the old client and classic content (!). Only niggle was a bit of an effort to install slightly more up-to-date graphics drivers, but once I'd worked out how to modify the nv_disp.inf to include the 7700 (damn nvidia/Asus and their leaving it out!), all was hunky dory. Lucky I wasn't affected by the boot.ini thing - as by chance I checked at about 10.30pm last night and it was all ready to go, ahead of schedule (but before anyone had noticed the boot.ini problem), so I set it off downloading the new content overnight.
Thanks CCP!

/me stabs everyone in the face who can play with the new purty graphics.
/me crawls into the corner sobbing......god damn x800 GTO PIECE OF ****!
Besides the boot.ini fiasco (lol, thats just too funny to be quite honest rofl), this patch is pretty nice, at least on the "classic" front. Haven't gotten into any large scale fleet battles yet to really give it a good whacking but seems good so far. Even Motsu and surrounding areas was pretty much lag free and that was with 150+ in local.

In any case CCP deserves some congrats, the upgrade went slick in all aspects unlike any other major upgrade, this time though a tiny but very annoying bug had to appear in the form of windows (as microsoft) incompetence. So much for files protection and windows cant even protect boot.ini
