Wow, just.. WOW. I logged in Trinity and was like . The graphics are amazing! With excellent FPS, on an MMO!
I just have 2 questions:
I get great framerate when docked in an Amarr station, but whenever I enter a gallente/minmatar/caldari station, frames drop to 15-20. Why? Odd, but not too important.
Whatever happened to that button that rolled up the overview instead of minimizing it? I don't need the overview in the way when I am wandering about.. wondering if the button moved or I just can't see it.

An annoyance with the new UI: The "Selected Item" section just above the overview is now it's own separate window. Normally this would be good, except that it's impossible to CLOSE the window. Try double-clicking on the title-bar. This should shrink it back up; this works on pretty much any window with a title bar now.
Glad to know that, The next question is; If I shrink the "Selected Item" window, will the "Overview" window snap to it? IE: shrink up the "SI" window, "Overview" follows it up. Bring the "SI" back down, and the "Overview" moves down with it. Or will the two windows just move separately? If they move separately that will be a problem.

Just wanna say nice transition you guys did at CCP.
Ability to have new or old graphics in same content. Don't know if servers were up in time or how late they were. But in my experience it must be the smoothest transition to a new patch with this much new content Ive experienced so far in EvE.
New GFX is downloading at 340kb/s. Wich is also impressive.
You got atleast a CCP guy in rens talking to ppl and answering questions . Again awesome.
So good work.

Logged in with Classic. Quite nice, I can finaly customise my UI (overview, target list) etc.
Some things to note:
1. Drone window. When I first deployed my drones, it VANISHED and poped up again in a few seconds with all drones in space. I nearly freaked out when it vanished. It does not do this on scoop/relaunch.
2. I want to TURN OFF WINDOW SNAPING !!! The closest option I found is to reduce it to 3 pixel distance. I HATE THIS FEATURE !!! (sorry for the caps, but I realy hate window snaping).
3. Any way to turn off Z-buffer ingame ? I know this is not a most wanted feature, but I used it on my office laptop to get the load as low as possible.
4. Vertical target list !!! HELL YES !!!

Ive got an min frame rate of at least 100 wherever I go and Ive got everything cranked up high, so well pleased with that :)
Few negative points though...
1.Where did the AA option dissapear to? (Wll have to find out how to force that, and see if it still works, I cant remember)
2. Whats up with the new Gall colour scheme? Did someone do it at 16:50 on a fri afternoon in a rush to get to the pub? My moros just looks pathetic now. It looks almost.. babyish, for a station killer, the old dark colour scheme suited it perfectly.
3. Engine exhausts more often that not dont appear at all now, and the gate animations dont work all the time either
4. WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU DONE TO THE MINING LASERS!!!!!!!!! I dont know what that pathetic, very brief, string of blue fuzzyness is about, but man, get the old animation back, NOW!!!! The graphics and sound effects are just mind boggelingly awful!! Who the hell thought that was better than the old yellow/amber animation.. They should be fired, or sent to the opticians for new glasses... Was your testing team high when they tested and approved that?? (Was it even tested at all?)
5. Why the drone cap at 5? It seems rather odd to tell us we have a ship capability of 75Mbits, yet we can only use 25Mbits of it if we using light drones... The drone cap seems out of place now.. Take it out, or get rid of the bandwidth thing, they dont go together... Thats like giving you a car that can do 180mph but limiting it to 50mph
6. I partially agree with the torp nerf, but I think you went a bit overboard! I agree they needed nerfing a bit to bring them into a similar comparison to blasters and rails etc, ie smaller damage at long range with high damage close up (as they were torps had high dam pretty much anywhere), but I think you went a bit too far. Beef the cruise missile damage up a tad and extend the torp range by about 10km.
In summary, great patch :) Just change the gall colour scheme and FFS change the mining lasers back!!

I've yet to hear any audio at all for engines, mining lasers, or turrets. The graphics section loads pretty well after I lower the cache and drop the shadows.
Has anyone noticed a flicker/freeze when you're undocking? I see it floating out, it freezes for a second or two, then I'm sitting outside the dock not moving. -- Opinions are my own.

Overall: great patch. I'm impressed with the server stability. Usually there's at least a day or two of "don't bother to do anything but change skills". New graphics are nice, but it's a good thing I'm a forum ***** and caught that boot.ini problem before going to bed.
Now onto the parts I don't like: the new cloaking effects. Most people will only see these after jumping through a stargate. As a dedicated explorer and fleet scout I can spend hours cloaked and looking at this disco flashing effect is going to give me epileptic seizures. Also the decloak effect is too slow. It's not even half done by the time the sound effect is. I think if it moved at the same speed as the cloaking effect it would be better. --- Honest officer, the dwarf was on fire when I got here! Can't find a mechanical engineering agent? Need a non-Caldari Navy agent? http://www.eve-agents.com/ for all your agent needs! |

CCP, one small nitpick what happened to the letterbox mode? :( I loved playing EVE in letterbox, all the widescreen option does now is seem to stretch the display a little more. If this was removed, why?

Yea I have to agree with you after seeing a Gallente ship for the first time since Trinity, the texturing seems a little flat. Not as shiny as the Caldari for Example, and needs a darker green I think.

Thank you for ******* up production royally. After 4 and a half year of playing you really managed to **** me off so much that I dont like to play anymore. All the T2 ship production batches have changed, you even managed to change the requirements for T2 drones, needing t1 drones to make t2.... Wanna bet you didnt do that for all the other ammo, hell knows what else you managed to cripple. Clearly you think that we are now going to build 1 T2 ship at a time? Are you guys trying to drive ppl away?
You clearly dont have a shimmer how much work we production guys do to keep all this in spreadsheets and such. Its very, very dissapointing.

Howdy,
I haven't got my desktop upgraded to Premium yet, so all I've been able to experience so far is Trinity Classic.
I love a lot of the little changes that have been made. Like being able to move the Overview, Drone, and Fleet lists. The elimination of the X button from the chat window, since you can't close it anyway. The autotargeting settting in the options. All great tweaks :)
The only tweak that I've found so far that I really really don't like is that the Notes, Log, and Calculator are now in that Accessories tab in the NeoCom. I use those often and having three buttons on the NeoCom itself was much more convenient than having to go through a litte dropdown menu to reach them.

There must be something wrong with your driver of eve settings. Teh system you have suggests better fps. If you have shadows at extreme, i suggest lowering it to high or normal.

first of all: well done CCP! great work.The game really looks way better than before. but: the quality of the ingame-graphics doesnŠt reach the trailer. (ok... mostly the ingame-graphics donŠt reach the quality of the trailer/s) one example is the new texture-system. for example..if you look on the raven or ferox on the trinity wallpaper and compare it to the ingame graphics youŠll see the difference.
nevertheless: eve is a great game and trinty makes it even better (looking)! respect CCP! I hope the eve-universe will stay alive for a long time.
when is the dx10 update being released?

The mouse-over of the pin/close/minimize is probably more of an opinion thing, personally, I like it. If you want less mouse movment to quit the game, why not just use ctrl+q? Complaining you have to move your mouse another few inches is kind of silly. Suggesting someone should be sacked over something that you don't like is a bit extreme, although I agree it's annoying.

Good job on the Eve-Voice.
Minus several bazillion points for the destruction of many boot.ini files due to extremely poor planning and programming.
I hope CCP will reimburse all those poor people who are not technophiles and had to pay someone real-life money to fix their computers after CCP broke them. (Not me BTW)

The new Premium stuff is looking good, unfortunately I have a few things I would like to see fixed in the new UI, though:
1) In the overview it is no longer possible to collapse the "Selected item" window. It can be minimized, instead. Very annoying. 2) In the new drone window, the shield/armor/hull display is right-to left, not left-to-right, as before. Needs some getting used to. 3) The "Floating cargo" and "Items" windows seem to share properties (size & position), so I can no longer have a small "Floating cargo" window for looting, and a big "Items" window when docked. Extremely annoying.

I have some trouble using torpedoes. My torps does no damage at all against sansha lords.
Anyone else have this problem?

not that I really want to kick a dead horse, being that the issue has come up so much, but please reconsider the gallente ship color scheme, its not the worst thing you could have done, but it deffinatly could be changed to make alot of people happy.
I see drones how stick together more; which is a great improvement, but i still have issues with OGRE IIs getting distracted as they fly 50 km to a RAT and having to remind them to attack the same target multiple times to get them all on the right ship.
myrm/eos nerf : i understand they had the ability of being overpowered, but if you wanted to reduce their DPS I think you should have removed turrent slots from the myrm (6 turrent slots with no bonus on a drone boat ?!?!?) like you did with the eos, and should have reduced the drone bandwidth to 100 instead of 125, i think the turrent + 25m3 reduction would have made the myrm alot more balanced without infuriating all the gal drone pilots, and wouldnt be surprised if we ended up with a myrm more like that after all the feedback is assessed.
Damps needed a nerf I agree, but for non damp ships only. damp ships should have bonus increased from 5% to 10% to help them be more usefull again (when u nerfed NOS, you gave amarr recons new bonuses to help compensate instead of leaving the ships broken)
Drone bandwidth is nice, but i think you should have the ability to launch full bandwidth not limited by 5 drones, bandwidth and drone limit together are a bit excessive i think.
Pretty new graphics tho, great jobs CCP, but like all things in the MMO world it will need some changing, but thats what more patches are for so everyone just calm down and try to give them usefull and non-irate feedback.

Read the patch notes or the millions of threads about it. Max you can get your torps with a raven is like 30km now. Get closer and you should be fine (or use cruise).
