Ok.. So downloaded Trinity, goto the log in screen.. keyboard does not work in log in screen.. but works fine everywhere else on computer.. I cut and paste my log in name and password from good old fashion Note program.. game logs in. Get in.. try to type messages to corp mates and in chat window. Low and behold.. no working keyboard inside game either. ??? THis is wierd.. all of the possible problems in the world.. this was least likely. I cant even quit the game normally because the ESC key is not recognized. Hmm.. any ideas?

State your type, brand and model of keyboard. That may help get an answer.

Model and type of keyboard is Toshiba Satellite Notebook computer, and its the built in and installed keyboard. So really not much else to say. Even looked if it was keyboard drivers, seen if there was an update.. No such luck. Reinstalled full Trinity client instead of Premium upgrade, still nothing. Even deleted Premium, and installed just classic, and tried, still no working keyboard. Hmm.. Very upsetting.

Hi,
when I use the Classic version, all works well,
but
when I want to use the premium version (I download the full version premium), when i want to connect, my keyboard doesn't work at all, but i can use my mouse, and if i do "Esc" and come back to the login screen, my mouse disapear, and my keyboard still doesn't work, i must go back to windows and kill the process.
I've never have any problem with my keyboard before
My config. : Windows XP SP2 keyboard : Logitech G15 mouse : Logitech G5
thxs for you help

Tried opening port.. But port was already open. Closed and reopened.. No effect, disabled firewall completely.. No effect.. Hmm.. Hopefully CCP saves me from the world of no Keyboard land soon. I dont feel so stupid, seeing that others are having same issues.

The problem was fixed for me by adding eve.exe and exefile.exe to my firewall bypass in vista. When eve.exe (which starts exefile.exe, and takes care of authentication) can't reach api.eve-online.com on port 80, you can't use your keyboard in eve.
To check, disable your firewall, and try. If it works, open up port 80 and 26000 on your firewall. Worked for me, may work for others.

Glad to see you only have the one problem, though thats of no comfort I'm sure. Is CCP customer service asleep here or what? Are the programmers competent or what? Why do users have to answer questions and find solutions to CCPs incompetence? What ARE we paying for here? "Free "Upgrades"" Windows boot problem (thank god that didn't happen to me) I waited 25 hrs before patching, PHEW! As for my problems in the post linked above I have tried 4 times to uninstall, download and reinstall, reset my registry to progressively earlier dates to restore my computer, checked dxdiag, petitioned to seemingly deaf ears days ago, and nothing gets answered by CCP! There seems to be myriad of things to try suggested by other gamers, who in those cases seem much more competent than those at CCP. (boot eve in safe and so forth). At this particular time my computer is reset to October 29th and all is well. I haven't tried for the fifth time yet to play the game though. Every previous install has screwed up my computer so much I don't dare. What do I have to do to get CCPs attention? Go to Iceland and do me a drive-by? Go postal? AAHH!! By the way, I guess I don't know how to post the link (I'm sure you know to copy/paste it to the address bar if you would like to see my original rant/post), nor do I know how to "Quote" someone else's post either Ya I guess in some ways I'm a noob, hopefully not the noobiest in the world

And by the way, I'm sure the boys at CCP are more competent in computers than I am, but I'm not stealing $15.00/month for MY services either

I had the same problem, I found a possible solution to this bug: I had enabled a Proxy Server in Internet Explorer (I donŠt even use IE, it was for testing something) and that Proxy Server was not available anymore. Obviously EVE gets Proxy setting from IE registry entries, but fails to do correct error handling. So go check if your IE has enabled a Proxy.

Thanks a ton, checked it out, looks like it's an issue with proxies that eve can't run through. Cleared mine up, and off I went to the land of Eve with no issues. Cheers mate, that one would have kept me up for a few hours.

I did some digging and found that there is currently an issue where you cannot type anything into the log in screen fields if you cannot see the MOTD.
Check this out: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=662892
And yes. We are fixing this issue in next patch.
