Edited by: Nareg Maxence on 07/12/2007 15:09:30 Unless you are hovering with the mousepointer over the window, the minimimize and transparancy gadgets are not visible. I don't know about you guys, but this doesn't seem intuitive to me.
(Edit for a bit of clarification)

It is an annoying feature that should never have been implemented.

This change is one of my only real complaints about the new UI so far.

This effect always catches my view. It is annoying and disturbing!
Don't try to invent too much new stuff. Follow the rules of UI-Design.

I also agree that this was a bad idea, but I have to ask if it improves graphics performance when not rendering all thos widgets for all open windows. Of course now there's code to recognize and react to the mouse-over, but who's counting?

/not signed I like this new "feature", imho it makes the UI look less cluttered when you pin windows. As for UI "rightlines": there are some programs that display additional UI elements only if you hover on certain areas. Example: Cubase 4, track automation display function.

Compromise:
Make it only auto-hide on windows that are pinned.

Alternatively make it optional. Put a checkbox for it in the ESC menu.

yeah it really is a bad feature. anyway are the local and chat windows colors changeable?
they used to be clear transparent(if you wanted them to) but now they have made it a darker color
