Assist means attack the target they are attacking. Guard means return fire on any aggressors.

Alternate question: where the ++++ you find those commands? or are they easy to find only in the premium build and in the classic they are hidden in some sub-sub-menu?
Clicking on the drones, drone UI, ship or space did nothing for me.

Be in a gang with someone, and then just rightclick on the drones listed at "in space".. and there you got the new commands with a dropdown for each gangmember.

They only appear in a fleet... --- This is your Captain speaking. Thank you for flying with our spaceline. Please remain seated until the ship has completely burned out. Thank you. |

Woha, so a "big" improvement for the drone users. I thought the behavior commands would always work.
TY for the reply.
/me go away grumbling about group attack working only in fleet.

Me and my corpmates tried these features out tonight, we would set the drones to guard one guy and then have a third fire at him. And drones still buzzed about as if nothing happened. So we switched to "assist", and he fired on someone and the drones still did jack...
Seems like this is like the broken killmails, jump bridges, chat windows, and all the other bugs that are ever so present.

i dnt think those commands work on corp mates- as in corp mate is the aggressor. however my corp was using those commands in missions and they work VERY well . we have the tank warp in and aggro the room then set all drones to guard him. they attack anything that aggress him.

I've played around with these commands a bit... need more testing.. Here is my results:
In PvP - no luck, switching back and forth between guard and assist in the middle of a battle seemed to have no effect whatsoever. -- only one test yesterday, will probably get some more testing in today.
In PvE - I could not get Assist to work at all, but guard did seem to cause the drones to aggro - including aggroing targets that were outside of my own control range.
I believe that there is potential here - but there are a lot of unknowns about the specifics. Questions that I have:
If I tell my drones to assist a player, and that player attacks another player in high sec, will my drones help? Could this lead to me getting Concorded? What if I already have kill rights on that target, then would the drones attack?
Basically - I think that these are good commands in theory, but in the end they won't help much for PvP because of the aggro rules.. either the drones wouldn't attack (so as to not give the controler aggro) and be useless, or they would attack and would give the controller aggro (which is my personal prefference)... or they would attack and not give the controller aggro (which would be seriously abused in high sec gank squads)

The focus fire option can be found when rightclicking on the white triangle in the top left corner of the drone window, as well as the passive/aggressive switch.
