My name is Fargeth. I am a mission-runner, pvper, the former COO of a prominent corp in 0.0. I've produced my own ammo a few times and I took a year off to consider the complexities of life. That's really all you need to know about me. I fly ships. I blow ships up, and all for profit. Until a few days ago when that changed...
You see, I had been missioning in my favorite system with my Drake. I had had a Raven once, but I lost it on my first back from my break, then I lost a Drake less than an hour later. I bought a Caracal and ran lvl 2's until I could afford another Drake. I ran lvl 3's, salvaging my own wrecks along the way. I tried salvaging other people's wrecks, but that takes way too long without a cov ops frigate to probe them out.
So, I got my Drake and missioned like mad until I had rigged it and upgraded everything as far as I was willing. I saw 40 million isk sitting my account a few days later and looked at my hangar. The loot called my name saying, "Sell us for we are useless in here."
I began selling off my loot. You know, the useless unnamed stuff that no one in their right mind would ever use, except I remembered at that moment what it was like to be completely broke and without a skillpoint to my name. I remembered that some people, somewhere, had to start off in their first mission or on their first pirate run with those horrible, useless mods that no one would ever use if they planned on making any money. I took my 40 mil and went to the local trade hub and began training my trade skills so that I could put more orders on the market. It's amazing how fast you can over 20 active orders at one time.
I went and looked for opportunities. I found the items that were being traded by the unprofessionals. You know the ones, the orders at less than half of what the rest of the world is selling. I happily obliged them by buying out their orders and reposting them at the higher price just under what the professionals used. The money began to slowly roll in. I haven't left the station in over a day, and I'm making more isk than I ever had before.
The mark-ups are insane. I'm going to make 100% returns on some items. My current rate is close to 50%, but that will only go up as time goes by. Some items are moving faster than others, and that's okay. It's hard enough to find more items to reinvest the money I've already made. I started with 40 mil. I'm up to 60 mil in 24 hours.
I just thought I'd warn all of you. I reinvented myself. You know what invention makes in our world.

I was just listening to "Meet Virgnia" as I read your post. I think I'd make a much better topic for an alternative rock song.
I am glad the OP warned us... I was wondering where all my billions in profits had gone, I had no idea he had started trading!
