So here I am reading the patch notes and see Invention success rates have been improved on ships and I think... "but what did they nerf" and yet there was nothing written.
Now I get a call from CEO and he says MOD Inventions... 10 attempts of cargo expanders results in 2 success with 3 runs each where before he'd get between 6-8 out of 10 success with 10 runs each.
So there it is, the hidden NERF!
YO! that dont even cover invention data costs!
Is this a mistake? or was the mod nerf compensation for the ship improvement?

So you tried once and didn't get very good results. Ever heard about bad luck? -

Edited by: Sabe on 09/12/2007 21:57:39 Edited by: Sabe on 09/12/2007 21:56:17 Its the runs, they were always consistant at 10
We do all our mods and they all come out 10 run, ships are 5run for hacs 15 for af's 4 for transports.
Trust me I know what I'm talking about, and you obviously havne't done extensive invention or you'd know.
using no decryptor and a normal t1 mod you get a 10 run copy, its not the sucess rate, I've seen anywhere from 1 success to all sucess out of 10 attempts, the average over time is about 60% with level 4 skills and a little higher with level 5 skills
When you inevent and build large numbers of T2 mods you'd know it as well as I do.
The change was in the number of runs that we get... it went from 10 down the 3... I want to know why and was it intentional by CCP
If it was intentional they just killed the invention/build market for mods... and I mean killed it dead in its tracks.

Maybe the max run number has changed for cargo expanders, so that you were no longer using max run bpcs?

The production limit has indeed changed from 300 to 1000, so getting 3 runs instead of 10 from the same BPC is exactly what you'd expect. However, at 18 seconds per run, you only need 3 hours 15 minutes to make a max run BPC at a POS. My research services Spreadsheets: Top speed calculation - Halo Implant stats |

That would explain it.
Thanks for pointing that out I will go make new copies.
