Ok first a n00b question, then a semi-n00b question
1) If I have kill rights toward somone and I engage with a gang member can they shoot aswell?
2) If they can't shoot what about boosting me with reppers etc... and if not, what if they are boosting me before i engage and continue while i'm fighting?

Only you who has kill rights can fight the other guy unmolested, the other has to risk sentries or concord.
I'm not positive about case two; if you're in lowsec and he reps you before or after you aggress, I would think he too would become flagged for aggression as he is aiding you. ___ Eve Players are not very smart. Support Killmail Overhaul

2) Will make your gang member flash red to the person you have kill rights on. Starting before or after you engage won't make a difference, but if your goal is to have help shooting the person you have kill rights on, have your buddy remote rep you and hope he's dumb enough to take aggro to two ships at once
Hope that helps ____________________ Hi. I'm not an alt :)

1) Only you can attack someone if you have kill rights. Exceptions are a) You are in a player corp (not rookie/npc corp) and someone steals from your j-can or steals loot from wrecks that you own. That will flag them to your entire corp, and allows your gangmember/friend to attack the target IF s/he is in the same corp as you.
Otherwise, they can never attack someone without consequence when you have kill rights.
Short version, being in a gang never changes anything as far as kill rights / rules of engagement go. Being in same player corp does. If you are in a gang with non-corp members, and someone steals your jet-can, ONLY you can engage the aggressor.
2) I've not tested it personally, but I would assume that if your friend remote repairs you or otherwise help you while you are flagged towards someone, your friend will begin to flash red as well.
However, before you can attack, the guy has to start shooting you. And before your friend can attack, he has to first do an aggressive act against your friend directly, such as attacking him as well.
If he's smart, he'll engage one of you at a time, or simply ignore both of you. -------------------------------------------------- "Every complex problem has a solution which is easy, neat and wrong!" |

If you have kill rights on a person and you attack are you then flagged as a legit target for the rest of the targeted characters player corp?

If this were true it would defeat the bilateral logic of kill rights so I doubt it but I'd like to know for sure as well. ___ Eve Players are not very smart. Support Killmail Overhaul

Last time I did this attacking someone you have killrights on only allows them to shoot back, none of their corpies can pile on without GCF. They can remote rep, shield boost, sit idly by and laugh as your battle-fit hauler chews a hole slowly through the side of their mining battle cruiser, but no pew-pew.
Makes me miss my -1.9 sec status...All the mining BC/BS's are on the other side of a 1.0. --
