Hello, as I have had interest in the proposed T2 Freighter BPO I am rewriting a new IPO proposal that will go to sale if enough people are interested. At the moment I am crunching numbers and came to a snag - does anyone have a good idea what a base price for the Freighters should be? I currently have 4.5B penciled in but as I am not experienced with the Capital market I am requesting a quote on a realistic, conservative price for these. For those not experienced, how much would you be willing to part with to afford these machines? 4.5? 5? Thankyou in advance

Quutar over on another section of the forums has put together a convincing cost analysis. http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=657264
The main problem with building these at the moment is that the first invention attempts were done with an emphasis on as many runs as possible, with little regard for low ME. This turned out to be a mistake, since it turns out that the most runs you can have on a JF BPC is 1. It seems that many people weren't prepared with a stock of freighter BPC's, so it will be almost 4 weeks before they can try again.

Chears Part of the deal I have is to buy base BPC off of one of the IPO runners copying, so I will be sourcing the JF BPC in shop so to speak, it saves around 300-400M per ship by the looks of it

The value of the freighter BPC is the same however you get it. If you make it yourself, you could sell it on the market for profit instead of inventing from it. It might appear that your jump freighters are cheaper to build by 300-400M, but you miss out on 300-400M profit on freighter bpc sales you could have made.

Just because he isn't paying 300-400m more for the BPC doesn't mean he can't make that in profit. He can still sell the ship at market premium.

Yes, but he should be understanding where the profit is coming from. The BPC should be considered an asset of it's true value, not the amount payed. This way he can see where his profits are coming from. If he is making more profits buying up the components of a JF under-cost then he shouldn't even bother building them and instead just be a reseller.

Just wanted to throw in that I agree with Shardale... it's like people who mine/reprocess for their own minerals and then build something and don't take in account the mineral cost for their sale price. Thinking that "well I got it myself so it's free" is false, you could have sold the minerals instead of using them, so they still "cost" the same as if you would have bought them in the first place.
